Great thread by crawfish!

How about we use this thread to post sayings in pool rooms we either really like or we thought were original, funny or especially creative?

I used to play with a buddy years ago who, when you missed a difficult shot he would say in his best golf announcer's voice:

"Gallant effort."

It was just so out of place in the pool room we had a good chuckle about it.

When you made a carom (usually unintentionally) he would say:

"Hmm....nice billiard!"

I know it's one of those "you had to be there" moments but we were still tickled by them.

Let's hear some more.

My friend Smitty used to have this habit of jawing a ball, and then having the cue ball run around the table and knock it in. Someone would always yell out "Smitty's little helper!". :)

One of my favorites to say when someone misses a shot is "thats a damn shame"

I like to remind one friend of mine that alot of his one pocket shots are "rather ambitious"

The "you just hold its head" is by far the best one ever and I will never get sick of it.
A very close second is JS's "eaten by a goat etc".

I also like "christ these pockets are tight" when you miss a ball by a diamond or more.

Our local owner likes to say "you communist pig" when a ball doesn't behave.
 
A pool player puts the bite on a guy who's flush. He asks for a nickel. Guy responds:

"Here's two hundred. I'm gonna have to owe the other three hundred."

(I guess guy knew pool hall "loans" are never repaid)
