Keith, I know you probably have heard this a million times that someone was your best friend, but nonetheless I met Bruce in Champions in Frederick. He came clear across the pool hall and said hello to me and that he tries to say hello to all players who can really shoot. I told him thank you and went back to practicing my -C game (I don't have a big head).

We both checked out at the same time and he said he was from Southern California. He must have been about 65. I asked him if he knew Kid Cole Dixon, and he said sure, he and Cole were best of friends. Then he said that he also hung out with you and when I told him that you were living in DC now he nearly fell over. He mentioned that he saw you give somebody from St. Louis the 7 ball and took him for 10 grand.

Oh well, I wrote down AZ's address and maybe he will never post here. Just thought you would like to know in case he was indeed a good friend of yours.

Is this the same Crazy Bruce that would run into a wall face first after missing a shot? I heard that he missed a 9-ball and ran as fast as he could towards an open door, and jumped out the door over the railing into the concrete. Are these true stories?

I think the guy you're talking about is Rayford a/k/a Tangle Eye from Tennessee.

I remember Bruce. Cole, Bruce, and me all hung out at the same pool room, Billiard Palace in Orange County.

I don't remember who I gave the 7-ball to, but I do recall beating somebody from St. Louis for 10 large. Back then, I played so many people every single day. Times have changed. I don't get to play every day like I used to. I sort of miss it a little bit, all the good action, all the people screaming at each other, "Bet more, you nit," "You 2-dollar son of a gun." Those were the good old days.

Give Bruce my regards, and tell him on Wednesday night, I usually go to Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville, and we could hook up there and reminisce about the good times. :)
