I ran across this pool player some 25years ago,he came to the legendairy action spot, bill and billies on the out skirts of baltimore(glen burnie),where everybody was betting high at the time,Jerry was a black man about in his 30s at the time,he seem to keep to his self and not talk very much,i do remember that no one in the pool room at the time would play Jerry,so they called Tom vanover up and those two did play some even 9ball,it wasnt easy but Tom did get the money, after Jerry lefted baltimore that week,i have never heard anymore about the man,it was like he vanished,i would like to know if anybody know of this man,or ever heard of him, alls i know is they called him Crazy Jerry from buffalo,of what i seen ,the man could play real good!

The story i got was that Crazy Jerry was/is in a mental institute in Buffalo,NY.

They would get him out and take him to play pool!

The guy was/is incredible to watch play. He comes with some miracle shots but the guy may have some mental condition associated with fear. Anyway, some local Wash,DC guys would stake him in high dollar matches.

Last time I saw him was at the Capital City Classic or Strawberries Legends of One Pocket.

I wonder whatever happened to Buffalo Frank who could shoot every shot with the rake?

Buffalo sure does have its share of players!

You're referring to Crazy Frank, from Buffalo? Haven't seen or heard of him in years. Gary Pinkowski had a good story about Frank. Ask Keith, he may have heard it.

Jerry not Buffalo Frank

Jerry from Buffalo hung around Gentleman's Cue also known as Bennies. Jerry lost to three or four guys there playing straight pool and 9 ball.He always got backed. He had serious problems. Everybody said he was a 100 ball runner, but played real bad because of his problems. I think it was the late 70'S not Buffalo Frank. This was in BALT.MD.

Crazy Jerry passed away many years ago. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, he spent his last days in a hospital environment.

"Crazy' Frank Piasecki still floats around the rooms in Buffalo. Spends most of his time playing poker now. Still can make balls though. Lost a tournament to him a few years ago by underestimating his ability.

What a crew. Crazy Jerry, Crazy Frank, Danny D, Greg and Dennis Hatch, Phil Fasciano. Terrors of Western New York!

I'll ask him. Thanks!

Crazy Jerry was Jerry McNamore

Last seen him play at Pocketeer Billiards in West Seneca around 93. I defer to Cardiac regarding his whereabouts today.

Jerry played beautifully, but had serious problems for sure. He was a legend in WNY.

Now Crazy Frank is another store altogether. Total shark -- and in the worse sense, unfortunately. Fine 1P player, though. And ultimate card mechanic too. Frank taught me a couple things, primarily of which was the importance of center ball. He ran the old Hertel Pocket Billiards for a time, but it closed when a gentrification project took root on Hertel.

Certainly the Hatch's were/art pool royalty (if there is such a thing) in Buffalo, along with DiLiberto obviously. But don't forget about Carl Galante, too. As an room owner he really has been a linchpin for the game ove the last 30 years. While the players moved from Carl's joint to what is today Bison Billiards, Carl is still the best pool promoter (along with Norm Skulski) in WNY in my opinion.

And since I'm drifting so off-topic, I'm shutting up now

Buffalo Jerry and Crazy Frank.....

Grover Lines, Crazy Frank Piesecki and Buffalo Jerry were about the 3 best players that actually stayed in Buffalo. Danny D wasn't around much and there was Phil Fasciano also when he felt like playing.....Jerry wasn't around that much either. I remember they went and "broke" Jerry out for a tournament in Syracuse and when I walked in Buffalo Jerry was shooting Mike Zuglan full of holes. Mike always was a little smarter than most ...He quit and said he would play Jerry later. Jerry was a formula player and Mike knew that the odds were good he wouldn't be hitting that good later on. He was right but Jerry went busted way before Mike could get his money back.---I took my first road trip with Crazy Frank. He almost killed us on the Queen Elizabeth Way ( on the way to Detroit via Canada ) when he sent our car spinning on the ice just missing the guard rail... he almost got us beat up when we won a side bet along with a bunch of others and picked up about 500 too much when the loser threw all the money on the next table for all of us to sort out. ....Those were the days

Jerry MacNamore

Jerry went legend ,when Cicero Murphy came to Buffalo to play him, Jerry was like Twenty one or twenty two at the time ,Cicero was the world straight pool champion at the time, Murphy was the first African-American professional pocket billiards player to ever win world and U.S. national titles. So There was was no doubt abt Cicero's skills.Cicero played Jerry two hundred to one hundred fifty straight pool. and won .I thought that kick started Jerry's pool career into another gear. You can ask Mike Segal,Danny DiLiberto,Minasota Fat's how good Jerry was, He's beaten all them convincingly enough to fine out his game.

Earl Herring played him in his prime . He said I dont know what his high run is but I know he can run 125 and out .

Jerry's Macnamore's high run

One of Jerry's staker's Bob Duston of buff,NY, say's Jerry ran a hundred fifty and out on a rd.trip they took. The great Hank Bowell Buff, NY pool champion played Jerry often, he probably would know.I personally know of some of the great player's he's beaten ,Minnesota Fats,Mike Segal, Weenie Beenie and the list go's on.I seen Jerry play a top player from NYC ,100 to 75 straight pool, the other player ran 73 ball's his first shot ,Jerry rum 100 and out on him. They played five game's Jerry's opponent ran 50,60, 70 something ball's every shot, and didn't win a game.

Squirrel

Does anyone remember him? He ran around with fat Wayne and came to my home poolroom in Ocean City in the 80's. He would go to the corner of the poolroom stand there facing the wall after missing a shot. He was nuts!

With all do respect PoolRookie, you referring Jerry MacNamore from Buffalo NY ? * One of Jerry's earmark's was that he never cried or complained , he never thought he was out of a a game or set.Bug's talked abt him in a god like manor , Dave Cosner,Crazy' Frank Piasecki , Hank Bowell and Danny D can testify to this.
