CSI dumps Diamond for Predator tables

I wouldn't look at a Predator table after the mess they had at some of the tournaments. If I was looking at a 9ft table it would be a Diamond or Rasson. Now a 7ft bar box , I wouldn't even consider one personally. The only bar boxes I've played on are Valley or Dynamo 8ft.

7 foot Diamonds play the same as 9 foot Diamonds.

The Open at Griffs is not run in a large venue where CSI has league tournaments running next to pro events. Those league tables are 7". Just changing pro side to match.

I wonder how the league players will adjust.
You do know they have 10 or 11 nine foot tables used in the US Open

Tables play fine IF set up right. A friend played the Arizona event and said they rolled/played/banked just fine. Problem is they are a colossal PIA to set-up correctly. The SAM's have always been that way. RKC wouldn't touch one for a bunch of reasons.
The AZ event was 9' tables. I wonder if the 7' tables are easier to install.

Sounds like Predator working together with them on the Pro Billiard Series was enough to deepen their relationship. Maybe that’s a lesson to Diamond. You can’t just supply equipment. You have to get in bed with others in the industry at a significant level on the events side.

Also makes you wonder if Diamond is even in a fiscal position to throw themselves around the industry as a promoter like Predator does. This might have been a partnership born on the back of Revo/BKRush sales.

Interesting.
As others have said, the first taste of 9ft tables left a sour taste.
If the 7ft tables are easier to set up, they might be ok at pop-up tournaments.

I will have to see what my American friends say about how they play vs. The solid 7ft Diamonds as we won't be seeing one in Australia for a year or so, if ever based on who and what is here already.

This isn’t a surprise. It was coming for a long time. Beyond that my lips are sealed.

Fatboy<———information is the most valuable commodity
It was coming for a long time?

As in the original owners of Diamond knew about this and overstated the value of their company before they sold it?

<——— not expecting an answer

Mark isn’t part of Diamond anymore.(well known fact)

Mark is a smart biz man

Predator has a strong marketing dept:

I believe a decision was made when CSI needed new tables.

It’s just biz for all concerned.

That’s what happened.

I don’t think anyone got hurt or it damaged pool in anyway at all. Just a transaction.

7-foot tables ?!?!?!?!? 4.5" pockets ?!?!?
It’s a big improvement over Valley Bar Boxes. The question that pops into my mind is what’s the height of the rails?
IMO, that’s what makes Diamond tables different. In my experience, rails taller than the ball’s equator play different.

I really don't think they're going to come up with enough Tables by end of February for the BCA World Championships in Vegas. How many tables do they normally have there? 300?

The depth of the shelf and pocket angle would be interesting to know as well.
