CSI INVITATIONAL 8-BALL (July 23-25, 2014) 16 Players (Winner $8K/ Runner up $5K)

I seem to recall at one of the IPT events the breaker was losing a majority of the games. Perhaps that was the 46% number. That might have had something to do with the IPTs slow nap cloth making it tougher to make a ball on the break and leaving more clusters.

Maybe Spartan fell asleep 40 min ago.

LOL sorry about that. Dozed off and something else came up and after that never came back

The IPT events were before I started doing the stats. The IPT did publish some stats on their website (which seems to be gone now), but I don't recall that the breaker-won-game stat was one of them.

In the IPT 8-ball the breaker had to take the stripes or solid based on what they made off the break. 2 stripes, 1 solid.... you take stripes.... you only had a choice if you sunk equal number of each. And the cloth was slower, which probably accounted for less balls on the break overall.

if Shane beats Kevin Cheng, and Ralph beats Dennis, Ralph is in.

if Shane wins and Dennis wins, Shane is in.

If Kevin Cheng beats Shane, and Dennis wins, Dennis is in.

If Kevin Cheng beats Shane and Dennis lose, Kevin is in.

That was only true for some of the challenge matches they did later. For the tournaments that Efren and Toasty won that I was referring to was open after the break.

The IPT is still accessible with the way back machine. Here is an archive from 2008. If you click the links within this page, they still work and seem to point to the same date.

Efren's stats:

Player's stats:

Rules (looks like it was open table after the break for the tournaments, and only take what you make on the special challenge matches):

Friday

Pretty cool how things worked out in Groups C & D.

In order to advance, everyone needs to win & get help from the player they beat during rounds 1 & 2.

so.....

In Group C.

Shane roots for Dennis roots for Kevin roots for Ralph roots for Shane

In Group D.

Morra roots for Busty roots for Ko roots for Darren roots for Morra

It's like a bizarre love quadrangle.

Anyone knows which one gonna be on the stream today ? Thanks.

First match on stream Shane Vs Kevin Cheng
