I thought it would be fun to determine how many of us AZBers use Center to Edge, abbreviated at CTE.

I am just curious as to what percentage of our members use Center to Edge as the base of their aiming/shooting system.

I don't want to get into splitting hairs about anything. I don't care who taught you the system or what it is called. If you use Center to Edge (and you will know if you do or not) click on the first poll statement. ALL ANSWERS WILL BE PRIVATE AND NO ONE WILL KNOW WHAT YOU VOTED FOR UNLESS YOU POST IT IN THE THREAD. When I set up the poll, you can choose whether or not the poll is private or public. If it were public, it would mean that ANYONE could view how you voted. If it is set up as private, no one can view how you voted.

I HOPE EVERYONE WILL VOTE![/B]

Thanks for voting.
JoeyA (just curious) just guessing but I would think that the CTE's will be in the 20-25% range.

And, FIRST!! {post, not vote}

Hi Joey,

Yes, I use CTE. (PRO ONE)

Thank you for polling. Should be interesting.

No cte to edge yet but hoping.

To (ME) aiming realy depends on how the balls lay.The distance and the angle.

1.Short shots from 0 to 30 degrees diamond system aiming plus gear aiming.

2.Long shots from 0 to 30 degrees diamond system aiming plus rifle aiming.

3.Short shot from 30 to 90 degrees diamond system plus parallel aiming.

4.Long shots from 30 to 90 diamond system plus pivot method .

5.Rails shots and shots close to the rail nothing but parallel aiming.

Learning the diamond system has help me learn different angles on the table,
so when im in a stand up position on the shot i know where the cues tip will
be pointed, not an exact point but close.Feel also plays an important part of
my aiming.

Just for the record, I am an experienced professional player and I have never used cte in my life and have not even considered using it.

Are you in the top 10 in the world? Just curious.

Looks pretty even in the poll.

I'd like to see a poll of the top 10 in the world and how they aim. That's what's important to me.

I fully expect the percentages on non-CTE users to rise in the coming days.

Hope when everyone gets back to work they will log on to AZ Billiards and vote. :D

In true %s, I suspect far less than 10% of all AZers use CTE. Of those people 30% probably know how to use it correctly.

I can't see edges anymore

I can't see edges anymore making CTE tough I suspect. Gonna talk to you about it next time we meet though.

If you want to play pool at the highest levels, people need to let go of aiming/playing systems and play by feel / memory
.
.
Your brain cannot consciously control the multitude of the variables and data that it needs to perform perfect pool
.
.
But sub-consciously if you let go and feel the shot and trust that your brain will incorporate all of the pertinent variables / data, then the outcome will successful

once you have learned the CTE system after a few long sessions it's like riding a bike. you recognize what is needed and your mind makes the adjustments for speed throw...and all the variables that you have listed. it takes the guess work out of aiming and adds consistency to your game. "let it go" ?? i don't think you realize how powerful this information is. look at the top players on tour right now. watch accustats matches and see how many are air pivot players. stevie moore openly admits he uses the system. IMO it beats the feel hit and hope option.

Hello,

Yes, I use CTE. I have taught myself how to air pivot ( body, not the arm ), can't wait to actually take a lesson from Mr. Shuffett.

I've been seeded in the top 16 on the Camel tour a few times, and high enough to be offered a spot in the WPA World Nine Ball. My record against top players is very good.

ok who are you?

I do not know the center to edge aiming system but I would love to learn it from the right person. Stan Shuffet. Learning another way of aiming accurately in anyone's arsenol would not hinder anyone if used properly.
