I bought the CTE video in May 2013 when I started playing again.
I'm not dumb but I couldn't make sense of the video.
I also searched you tube and watched all of the CTE related videos and none of it made any sense.
So I said if there are 7 points on the object ball and 2 possible pivots for each point, that would mean you could generate 14 angles with CTE.
That didn't sound like enough so I created the attached visual.
Just for the limited shots in the diagram, you would need 36 angles.
In reality you need closer to 90.
If someone who knows CTE could tell me the the distinct visuals and pivots, I will try them and probably convert to CTE.
Notice, Center To Edge is always parallel to the long center line.
What you have to get past is that a specific CTE visual does not equate to a specific angle. You can't think in angles with CTE. Every CB/OB position on the table will have a unique physical alignment. For instance:
Take a straight in shot. If it is exactly straight in, a CTEL/C with left pivot, or CTEL/A with right pivot will pocket the ball. Now, move the OB slightly (say 1/4 inch) to the left, so now the shot is not quite straight in. Logic tells you if you apply the same perception, you will likely miss the pocket by a margin, as the straight in no longer applies, yes? Well that is not quite right. The exact same perception/pivot still pockets the ball center pocket. That is because the perception is physically unique for the given CB/OB address. Yes the same perception/pivot applied results in a unique physical ball address, and ultimately still lands at the pocket. The CB/OB orientation affects our perception this way. These things will slowly become understood as you practice the DVD shots and learn the material.
