?? Cue Arrived not as ordered ??

Glad that it is going to work out for you, I just wasn't clear about the cuemakers response after you called him.

The original builder should have been made aware of the problems & given a chance to make it right or give a 100% refund. If he refused or argued, which you said he did & there's no reason to doubt it, then you have a bad situation & it's all his fault. But if you never gave him a chance & took it to another builder, then he is relieved of any responsibility of that cue. Either way, i'm sorry to see you had such a tough time with the deal.

Thanks

Thanks I appreciate the kind words. As i said earlier I left a message with the cuemaker about the scratches.

He has yet to get back to me.

I have a feeling this will all work out.

Scratches

I completely understand your question. When the cuemaker and I discussd the wrap after he realized his mistake and offered to make restitution. When I went to Mike Miller here in NY to have the rewrap done he noticed the scratches and told me he could get the scratches out and to leave it with him.

In regards to the scratches a message was left on the cuemakers voicemail and I have not received a response as of yet.

I am imagining a full refinish of the cue isnt necessary (hoping).

So all in all the situation is working out.

In an earliear post, you said maybe the scratches came from the butt and shaft rubbing together during shipping. If they weren't deep scratches, just a surface deal, there are compounds for buffing that will take those out. Now, I hate to post this on here, because some nut will try to touch up their cue and blame me for it. It's not my fault, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS......
I worked in an upholstery shop during High School, and we used toothpaste, and a soft cloth to take out minor scratches in wood finishes on furniture. I have used it on my white porcelin sink and removing grease off my stove. Plus, it leaves my kitchen smelling minty fresh. LOL....
As for the wrap, look at your receipt, if he charged you for irish Linen, it was a mistake from the outset. If he charged for the other, then he needs to reimburse you the full cost of wrapping the cue,
Hopefully, it all gets rectified peacefully. Nice job taking the high road too.

I spoke with the cuemaker and he is sending out a check which is good that he is willing to do that. In the beginning of the phone call he tried to argue the point with me that the wrap selected was linen. After I pointed out the difference in cost he realized his mistake and quickly offered the check which is good. So in the end im hoping this works out.

Although I tried the compound and what not and you owe me like 100,000 dollars for this one of a kind ivory scrimshaw Arthur Cue. lol lol jk jk

Thanks for the kind words.

Hey Guys,

I Have a question regarding a friend of mine that recently ordered a cue from a very reputable cue maker, and it did not show as ordered.

First off the cue was ordered with a Black Lizard Wrap & and the cue showed up with a Black Linen Wrap with white Speck.

Do you:

A - Contact the cue maker asking for refund of cost of wrap
B - Send the cue back to him to rectify the problem, In turn you lose in the shipping cost
C - Bite the bullet and just pay to have the wrap put on

Second of all, the cue shows up after inspection it is found that the finish has scratches in it.

Do you:

A - Ship the cue back for new re-finish, again losing in shipping
B - Have him Reinburse you the cost of new finish
C - Bite the bullet and have someone else refinish it.

After all of this do you just send the cue back and have him build you a whole new cue to specifications.

IMHO, if you have the work done by another cue maker it is no longer an original by the cue maker that built it.

Gimme some feedback on what should be done

Thanks
Steve

***** Out of respect for both parties i left all names out of this post ****

Has you friend contacted the "reputable" Cuemaker before you told his story here? What did the "reputable" Cuemaker offer to do to correct the problems?
