Can anyone tell me which cue balls they will be using this year on ALL the tables? I'd like to know which one to practice with until then.I guess the object balls are going to be Cyclops but not sure about that either. Thanks,John B.

I can't say for sure but I would guess they will be using the standard Cyclop cue ball.
You could contact Diamond Billiards, they'll know.
Good luck @ DCC this year JB!

Cyclops ball were like playing with an ice ball. CB would roll about 5-10 inches more than expected, even accounting for new cloth. This was most prevalent when the cue ball has a lot of sidespin off the rail. I think its the finish on them which is so slick it has minimal friction with the cloth.

Hopefully they due away with the Cyclops set and get back to Aramith set.

Never seen or had as many skids; as this past year, at the DCC.

Good luck th is year John!

Now, what are you worried about a trifling little detail like that??? If I had your ability, the only thing I would be wondering is if they were going to still be spheres. If they are still sphere shaped, then you are still a world beater...

John, I talked to Greg today and he said the Cyclop CB. Traditional colored Cyclop balls all around, except for the TV table which would have the skittles set.

Well, in that case, you can tell your opponent after you beat 'em that they just tasted the rainbow ha ha ha...

My thoughts exactly. Took me like 2 days to figure why my banks weren't taking like I wanted them to. The cue ball was just sliding off and not putting anything on them. That's the biggest adjustment I have ever had to make on a pool table.(The cball is kinda funny too).Guess I better oil mine up soon cause I've been playing with the cyclops balls every since the last DCC:D and haven't had to clean them yet:smile:. Yeah me too but as long as we have plenty of time with the balls that we will be using we should be alright.Oh and thanks alot! John B.

That's too bad, I for one am sorry to learn that as a spectator. Guess they gotta use em if they made em, if that's supposed to be a good reason at all.

Freaking TV colors suck ... and IMO definitely take away from our focus on the game, not to mention taking the commentators focus as well, as was obviously the case last year by the continued comments and confusion. Damn. Politics wins again ... Oh well ... it is what it is.

With the current camera technology, do they still need specially colored balls?

Most pool streams today have equipment capable of bringing it to you in living color. Surely accustats is no different.

It's been a year. If the commentators are still confused, then it is they who need replaced, not a ball set.

John -enough of the pool ball talk. :D we don't know each other but can you take me fishing? Saw the pics of you and Frost and your catch. I want in.
