Another $140 raised

Today was another good day for the raffle. We raised another $140 today! All ticket numbers will be posted by tomorrow evening. Thanks everyone for your support.

Richard made the front page...

Richard made today's front page of the Herald-Mail newspaper. It was a very nice human interest story about his winning nationals and his upcoming trip to Germany. Probably won't be the last time we see him on the front page.

Thanks to all who pledged money over the weekend while I was working; everyone has been left pm's with the paypal address. Godd luck to you all.

Two weeks to go until the drawing let's see if we can push this raffle alot higher. Tell your friends, tell people you don't know. Let's get as many people involved as possible to help out Richard.

Ticket # Update

With todays entries we have almost reached $1000 raised. The total now sits at $920 with two weeks yet to go. Come on everybody lets keep pumping this up. We are trying to offset a travel bill that amounts to oveer $3000. Think about how good it would feel to know you helped out a very deserving kid reach his dream. Just think how you will feel if he wins the world title, knowing you helped get him there. Let's dig deep into our pockets and become part of this raffle. Thanks again to everybody!!!

Sunday bump. Ant812 has been nice enough to donate a Chamelion Rack to the raffle. It is on its way to me and will be given away as a second drawing on the 23rd. Good luck to everybody. Don't forget to check on Richard's progress as he begins play today in his first US Open. Go Richard!
 
One week to go...

Well everybody we are now in the home stretch. The drawing will be next Tuesday the 23rd. It will occur at approximately 8:30 pm. I will be videotaping the drawing and posting a link here on AZ to YouTube so evryone can see how it turns out. Haven't seen much activity here lately. We are doing good, but if you can spare a few dollars please order some more tickets. Richard is a great kid and every dollar we raise will really ease a big burden currently on his family in getting him to Germany to compete at Junior Worlds. Thanks again.

Richard "The Kid" Barney was just eliminated from the US Open.

He had an opening round loss to Mark Jarvis, then had 2 consecutive wins over Allen Jewell and Stanley Wilkie, before losing 11-9 to Shaun Wilkie.

All in all, I think that is pretty good for a 15 year old kid in his first ever major event.

Last day for tickets

We have raised 1240 for Richard so far. Today is the last day I will be accepting ticket requests on AZ. This is so that all paypal transfers can be accomplished in time for the drawing. The drawing will be held at approximately 9:00 pm tomorrow, October 23rd. As I stated in the original post I will be video taping the drawing and posting it up on you tube with a link here on AZ so everyone can see. Good luck to everyone involved!

All of the weekend's new ticket numbers will be posted later today.
 
Just 15, Wow!

Just 15 years old, and such a wonderful accomplishment! I would like to kick in too; count me in for $20.
