I've been buying and selling custom and production cues since the mid 80s and things have really changed. Some of the most interesting observations I've made have been in the realm of how guys describe the style of cue they are selling. When did sneaky petes all become described as full splice cues, When did any cue with an ivory ring in the butt-sleeve become a Hoppe style cue and last but not least, when did plain solid wood merry-widow cues become fancy three and five ring cues? I don't really mind any of this, just wondered if any of the veteran cue guys have noticed this. The one I really can't stand though, are the guys that describe cues with re-cut points as 45 point etc. I always expect to see some truly radical splice or something and then it just turns out to be re-cuts with reverse points in the butt.
