Cue Experts I Need your Help HELP

Some folks think things like this are helpful:

a refinished gus or pete from the earlier days. most likely something from gus.
scratch the red paint off that shaft and you will see brass.
someone put paint on it to differentiate their shafts.

I have no idea what this cue is, but I sure like it. It has that classic old school look with an interesting forearm. I do hope you can authenticate this cue and let us know what you find out.

There's a chance I'll never be able to because the guy that built it wouldn't admit it (if he's still around). The cue for sure (I think LOL) has George-made parts.

Its is cool. Great look and splice and a unique butt. Old school.

If you don't mind me asking, do you own this cue and how did you find it? I like the back story and history of neat cues.

I don't own it although its been at my house for years.

The guy who owns it bought it and a Titllist that also has that Bushka look and the Gus Box Cue all together as a lot from a World Champion pool player. He didn't know what he was doing at the time but made out pretty good on the Gus purchase.

Here ya go.

Now this cue HAS been to Pete. Pete agonized over this cue, but after a week, decided he couldn't authenticate it as being made by George Balabushka. Pete was sure that the parts were made by George, but figured it had probably been assembled by someone else.

That does not look like a titlist

One other note... I saw someone else repeat that Eddie Silva used Gus blanks. Not the case.. every one of the ones I have seen Eddie made the blanks on. He made his own, not good ones, but his own.

When I showed the first cue to Barry, asking (hoping) if his father had built the arm, he told me it wasn't his dad's. I asked him if he had a guess who did (hoping he would say Spain) he told he gruffly to ask a living cue maker whose name I won't mention here.
