Cue ID help please

Lol, I was a split second from posting that.

Looks like the OPs cue is a tribute of a Schon tribute... Probably a steel joint and CNC points so $500 - $700 is a decent estimate

A number of things, one, the little bit he has shown there is a crudeness to the inlay. Balabushka inlays were not as perfect as inlays today. The points from what is visible in the picture do not look like cnc and again are not that great looking .

The rings on his cue look plastic as they would have been. The Schon when blown up looks to be phenolic. The MOP notched diamond in his cue is a real notched diamond. The one in the Schon is made to look like it is notched. It appears to be scribed to look like a notch. The MOP diamonds, are also different dimensions it looks like but that is hard to tell from the pictures.

Finally the gold braid type ring is identical to what Balabushka used. If you look at the web link of my friends Balabushke you will see they match perfectly when put side by side.

Open the pictures in different windows and compare them side by side and see what you think. I want to see more of the cue, I hope he post more pictures.

I'm thinking this has to be a late April fools joke.

Besides the blackish butt cap this looks more like a Balabushka than what I have ever seen. Then again, there are many cues which look like Balabushka.

Anyway, I wanted to subscribe to this thread as this is VERY interesting...

I picked up a case at a yard sale this past weekend and tonight during league I was offered about 15X what I paid for it, so I figure it must be a good cue. I can tell it's old, but it still rolls pretty straight, the bottom part is perfect the top (tip side) has a slight wobble. One guy in the pool room thinks it might be a Palma or a Paridice, any help will be appreciated. I was told by the guy who thought it might be those 2 types to come here for help, I am new please be patient.

Thank you in advance.
I will try to attach pictures.

You interested in 16x what you paid ?????

In fact, I could bet some that the OP is just ****ing with everybody here. If so, well done, OP.

For me it seems that the pictures of the butt and the forearm are not even from the same cue. The wrapping is of different colors in those pics.

Sorry I've been working and didn't have time to post, I took more pics because I have had a lot of PMs and people asking for more. This cue doesn't have Schon written anywhere on it and my red bands look more metal then those in the pic. Pavlos is right for some reason the bottom part looks a lot more shiny or new for lack of a better term. Many people asked for pix of the joint so I took some. As far as selling I have had many offers via PM but if I decide to sell it will go to the first guy who PMed me, he was very nice and has tried to help me out a lot, thanks for the response guys, although many think this is somehow a joke all I am looking for is some information. I don't understand why people like Ken 4 say "what I am thinking" and not let me know what they are thinking. I am asking for ideas, hinting around isn't helping. If you don't feel comfortable saying what you think in public please feel free to PM me.
I apologize I am taking these pics with my phone and they aren't great.

Because I tried to sharpen them up and resized & cropped them in Photoshop, why do you ask? Should I not? I am trying to show the best close up quality with the hope that maybe there are some things that might give away the cue's maker. I am not sure what to look for I have not seen a name or any mark that I can see, I have may PMs asking me to take closeups and different parts of the cue. Many have asked for me to take the rubber out of the bottom, but I am not willing to do that as I am worried I might screw something up and some people are saying this cue might have some real value.

I don't understand the people making jokes or thinking I am somehow making a joke, if I knew what the cue was I don't really see where the funny would be. Ha Ha I knew the maker and came here and asked anyway! there I got you. Ha Ha, now go away if you have nothing to add because that to me doesn't seem like a funny joke and you aren't helping.

I can crop pics on my iPhone.

To OP: Please remove the joint protector and take another shot. The idea of taking a joint pic is to see the type of pin used. This can help determine which cue maker made the cue.

nice find and congratulations. stop wasting your time here and contact pete tascarella.

maybe you could take a picture of it next to piece of paper with you username written on it... just to silence the skeptics.

So what are you asking Ken gave the best advice you can ask for if you really have the cue take it to an expert other than that how do you know who to trust anyway good luck and good shooting

IMO the rings are wrong for a Balabushka. Mine was bought from George, and every one I've seen had the same rings. Lots of them were old buffalo nickles. The rings on this cue are too skinny. You could certainly tell from the joint screw, as well as under the bumper.

iMO, It's a Bushka... Dollars to doughnuts... Congrats! Pete T. can authenticate it...

I would not sell that cue lol... I would wait for the letter from Pete and either keep or sell......

BTW, IMO (just going by the pics, and the foil above the wrap) you more than likely will be getting a pretty positive letter from Pete.

I don't see any good pictures of the bumper. Can you tell us the color of it?

While an original would have the Brunswick bumper, bumpers are easily changed, so I really would not go by that. I would go more by the age, the red material, and that very very rare foil above the wrap. Those warrant highly the trip to see Pete.

Here is it's butt twin

I agree with you; it was only one point of what I would look for. By the way, I agree that there is a lot that looks good on this cue, including the wrap. I think pictures for Pete is the way to go.
