Heya, I'm new to the forum. I'm not a cue maker but I was wondering if a stainless steel joint is a standard sized item.
The reason I'm asking is because I am a goldsmith and a friend of mine is a hand engraver. Is it possible for me to get a standard joint, inlay and engrave it, before the cue is put together. It is REALLY hard to do diamond setting in a cue that has been put together because it is impossible to hold secure enough to work on because of the length.
I don't know if I'm making any sense or not, but I think a hand engraved joint (the same quality as good gun engraving) and maybe some gold inlays set with diamonds could make a fine looking cue. Or I can get really pimpy and make the rings in gold, set with diamonds
