Why is there a stigma about customcuelathes? From what I can tell they look like they are built well, and he continues to improve them when the other guys don't seem to. Why does everyone say Hightower is the way to go? The only reason I keep hearing is customer service. I don't own either, but have thought about buyin one or the other in the past. Curious mainly....
I bought one and I've regretted it since day one. In the end, I paid as much for my customcuelathe as I would have for a comparable hightower lathe and my lathe is not close to being equal. The whole experience was bad for me and my wallet. Even though I bought someone elses lathe, Chris still offered to try and help me get my lathe fixed up. That's why I reccomend him.

Did you buy his "cue builder" lathe? His new one "looks" top notch, but then again looks may be deceiving. That is great that Chris helped set up another guys product. Enough said...lol
His mandrels looked top notch in his picks too but we all know how they turned out. When you buy from Chris you know you are receiving a product that has been tried and proven in the feild, not something new that has just been come up with. Chris having to step in and help fix problems on someone elses product speaks volumes for both parties customer support!
