A good friend of mine just moved to St Louis. He has an old (my old) Scruggs and is looking for someone to put new tips on it and clean up the shaft. DOes anyone know any reputable cue makers in St Louis. Thanks.

In addition, are there any good pool rooms?

Tell him to head over to The Break in Cahokia, Ill. It's only a 10 to 15 minute trip from downtown St. Louis. Enjoy and best of luck!

Cue "n Cushion. Right up the street from Jim Buss' place.

By the way, I have a real nice Buss cue if he is looking for a trade for the Scruggs. Cue sold for $2500 new

If you don't want to mail it to Scruggs, I would also recommend Jerry Terbrock. (636) 861-3350

He refinsihed one of my old cues about 15 years ago & knows what he is doing (personal friend).

He is becoming a master. His best cues are NOT represented on his website or the Internet yet. Well, maybe one is: http://www.chalkers.com/id457.htm

He is making some incredible cues with handcut points now also.

Tips and shaft cleaning for him are no problem!

Go to Terry Huelsman's 'the Break' as referenced above.

Cue makers:

Doug Patrick (posts here as patrickcues) Granite City, IL
Mike Zimmerman (posts here as Zims Rack)
Travis Nicklich (posts here under his name he is Blackcreek Cues)

I have met Doug and Zim. They are both great guys. I have only spoke to Travis, but his cues are gaining much prominence.

Cuemakers:
Jerry Terbrock- St. Louis
Jim Buss- St. Louis
Q Ball- St. Louis
Doug Patrick- Granite City, IL
Blackcreek- Smithton, IL
Zimmerman Custom Cues (myself)- O'Fallon, IL

All of the above will do repairs on other cues, except Blackcreek. I'm the only one that travels to tournaments in the St. Louis/Metro East area to offer repairs on the spot. All do excellent repair work and build great cues, availability and completion time will vary with each cuemaker, some while you wait, some 1-3 weeks!

Places to Play:
Raders Sports Bar- St. Peters, MO
Side Pockets- St. Peters, MO
Teacher's Billiards- St. Peters, MO
Cue and Cushion- Overland, MO
The Break- Cahokia, IL
Riverbend Billiards- Alton, IL
Baxter's- Fairview Heights, IL
Billiard Club- Granite City (where Doug's shop is located)

There's many other places, these are just the ones that I think are more known!

Good luck,
Zim

I'm set up for repairs at Baxter's in Fairview Heights, IL every Wednesday from 6pm-9/10pm! Primarily installing linen wraps, tips & ferrules and reconditioning shafts!

Done on the spot, while you wait (drink, eat, play pool)!
Baxter's has 28 tables, full restaraunt and bar, bands on the weekends and the best staff around!

We actually have a Gateway Amateur Tour Qualifier event there this coming Saturday, Oct 11th, registration ends around 12:30pm!

Zim

Just want to say I see Zim everyweek at Baxter's on Wednesday, has some great cues and does great work...

It's a great thing to have a cuemaker on site at league, I wish more players would get it in their head that they don't have to play with a worn down 20yr old tip or a super sticky dirty shaft......
