Cue makers by State

Florida:

Miester
Searing
Arnot
Harris
Howard
Dayton

Egad. There are something like 30 cue builders of some sort in FL and another 30 in California.

{edit: Just checked EasyPoolTutor which probably has the most comprehensive list per state}

Freddie <~~~ who is Miester?

I think Maryland wins hands down even though Mike Cochran is now deceased. I still can't believe he is gone.

I think you'd have to reconsider this when the other coast has Ernie & Tad among the other 30-40 cue builders.

I will take Maryland.

I am not saying those other cuemakers aren't great, but Lambos and Scruggs are my two favorite and the only time I hit a Black Boar, I was shocked at how great it felt. And Bob Frey is fantastic as well. Maryland is pretty tough to beat.

Isn't Danny Tibbits from Florida?

It is a tight race between FL and MD. I wouldn't wanna call that one! Supreme talent in both.

I love Timmy's and Lambros' cues as well as Tony's. But... and that's a big butt....

It's tough when you say "I am not saying those other cuemakers aren't great..." when you're talking about Ernie Gutierrez! Tad Kohara! And we didn't even touch on Jerry McWorter and Rick Chudy. And with Pete Tonkin again winning the People's Choice Award at SBE...

My favorite cuemaker is Andy Gilbert and I also like Jim Buss... but Missouri isn't going to be my pick as "Tough to Beat" any time soon.

Freddie <~~~ and I'm not even talking Florida and Illinois!
