Cue makers to stay away from

Here are a few examples of cues made! Several I have seen in person! he makes his own blanks! he got his start getting premium wood for Tim Scruggs and now gets some for Black Boar!
Production is/was never the question! The guy makes cues.
Having full details and knowledge of the situation is not why the guy obviously backed out and he knows he backed out!
Why else is he not here complaining? Just a friend that goes off the reservation!
Ps: stuff like this may keep good cue makers from teaching!!!
Additionally, the buyer knew 100% that Black boar had nothing to do with his cue deal! Also knew making waves and threatened the work relationship between Bernie and black boar. A big no-no! With full disclosure made the deal and a friend of his/her lobbing pot shots is not cool!

Nice cues but I wouldn't give 1k for any of those ., I'm assuming the OPs friends cue would have some inlay work done that would require use of other machines in Tony's shop that but who knows

Sorry I haven't been on the last couple days I was in a pool tournament. I'll try to clear things up for everyone. Bernie promised the cue would be done and deliver in July 2015. It wasnt done and he made one excuse after another. January 2016 his text said he was starting over to make the cue ( not sure he ever started making one in the first place) buyer asked for their money back. He said he would give the buyer their money back but he didn't have it at the moment. March the buyer was giving back $1200. Bernie changed his mind and said he was keeping $900 because the buyer cancelled the order.

Why was the refund requested VS waiting on the cue?
Above in red, what is you motive? Get the full refund or try and sabotage the relationship because he could refund 1200 from the sale of the cue???

It's a good friend of mine. Bernie is the one going around mentioning it to potential customers. I was just answering someone's question on here. My friend canceled after one excuse after another. There was never any report or evidence any work was ever done just excuses. After 8 month pass the time a cue was promised I feel the person has that Right to ask for a full refund. A cue maker loses a lot of credibility after given extended period of time and the only thing the buys gets is excuses. My friend got tired of waiting. You are either Bernie or someone very close to him to even try to defend his actions. Promising a full refund and turn around a month later (March 2016) and only refund $1200 is wrong and there is no excuse for all of his lies.

How long was the cue supposed to take we have yet to hear that ,, was this a contract in writing ,,you do understand Bernie is working in someone else's shop ,, ,,
I personaly put little stock into this whole thread if all these texts and emails exist and your going to bash someone atleast post some evidence ,, pretty easy to screen shot the emails and texts

Don't you understand simply English ? Bernie promised the cue would be finished and delivered July 2015 ? Bernie failed to live up to his promise and continued making Excuses. In February 2016 he agreed to refund all the money in a text BUT he needed until March to do so. March 2016 he refunded $1200 and then said in a text I'm keeping $900 because you cancelled the order.

I would recommend having your friend who ordered the cue come on here and post screenshots of the texts promising the cue was being remade and then that a full refund would be given.
Threads on azbilliards outing cue makers who are doing shady things have helped people in the past. Maybe your friend can be helped too but third hand information does no good. without evidence of the broken promises you could just be someone looking to ruin a good man's reputation for all we know.

How was your experience buying the "TWO" bocote cues??? Why did you omit that you own two of his cues and were the owner of the last two cues made???
Additionally, you omitted the reason for the delay? The buyer modified the cue design jog your memory? What was the modification to the design? White phenolic rings instead of black jog your mind? What happened when "White phenolic rings were used instead of what Bernie recommended? I will tell you! The tenon cracked because it was a "Much" weaker material and the buyer insisted despite Bernards warnings? Did bernard tell the buyer what happened? Yes he did! He repaired the tenon and switched the phenolic to Ivory at much added expense. The buyer then said "well" i don't want it since the tenon cracked and you had to repair it!!!
He was 2 weeks away from finish! He received 2 checks! One for $600 as the deposit! Another check for $1500! He returned $1200 which was minus the $300 for the ivory he had to upgrade to for structural reason and buyer aesthics!
Does any of this sound familiar! He offered to redo the cue and "start again" as you said.
I understand this may be a family member or close friend of yours involved in this dispute! But, you attacking and "OMITTING" vital details to paint Bernard as some kind of villain is not a good look.
I asked you several VITAL questions and they still remain unanswered in my last post and I wonder why unanswered??? Because, the answer is that the reason for the return was 100% because the weak material requested resulted in the tenon to crack and despite being structurally sound and repaired the buyer could not get over it! Thus, the screams for a refund! Nothing to do with building the cue or delays on his part as they are a direct result of the changes requested by the buyer!
