I just got this cue on a trip to New Zealand to see my sisters wedding. I was rummaging through my grandmothers closet and found my fathers old pool cue(I was looking for it.) They wouldn't let me take it as carry on on the plane, so I had to check it :frown: they lost my luggage in sydney. and i begun to worry and for good cause apparently. when i received my luggage today-3 days after my return, the cue is warped and beaten and bruised! missing the tip and brass ferrule that were in place.

Its nothing special as far as value, just an ole canadian maple one piece house cue. It was my Fathers though. and nothing can replace that.

Don't really want to make a 2 piece cue out of it, but if I have to I will. I will post some pictures of it, photobucket wont host my current picture as it is too large.

thanks for reading.

Losing it didn't help I'm sure of that, But, you have to consider that the moisture content changing from Nee Zeland, to directly over the ocean, then finally to in the states. Thatch change over 3 days might have been what caused the problem. Hell, more or less time probably wouldn't have changed anything. Honestly worth a lot or not I think you should hold the airline accountable. You know it's not a zambodi but they don't. Sentimental value turns to monetary value real quick when ignorance is matched/exceeded by a conglomerates wealth

You must have missed the beaten and bruised part . So bad, the ferrule and tip become dislodged.
Never mind the climate change.

Until we get to see the pictures, we can't know how "beaten and bruised" it is - though it sounds bad.
But hang the cue by the pin for a month or two and see if it straightens itself out. Stranger things have happened.
I really hope this can be restored to close to it's original self.
:sorry:

One piece - house cue...

It will warp, most likely been in a damp NZ house for a long time.
Like Gary said, hang it for some time.
