In a hurry.. you can also go to any Big 5 or like sporting goods store and get a Hockey gear bag. Plus, they have built in wheels. I usually just put all my clothes in with my cue case. (That way it's extra convenient for them to lose all my gear in one shot!

Since you can't carry it on, either put it in a good protective case and pack it surrounded by your clothes, or ship it insured via USPS, Fedex, UPS, etc. to the destination.
Or you could always buy one of these and put your normal pool cue case inside of it.

In my humble opinion carrying a canvas or cordura bag padlocked asks a thief to slit the material to see what it holds or simply steal the entire bag. A padlocked Pelican type case is pretty cumbersome, and you may be charged extra for a second piece of checked luggage (check with your airline to be sure).
I'm going to the Philippines for a month and I want to take a 2 X 4 with two cues and an empty case to store possible cue purchases. I also want to bring clothes for a month and several pair of shoes. I decided on the 36" Samsonite bag that Samm Diep sells. It holds two cases or more in a separate compartment, is made for stout, and is said to be the best out there. On sale now from Samm at $143. She says hers has traveled many a mile and she likes this one the best of all she carries. I also looked at Cabelas and their Alaskan Guide duffel looks great too but it's $200 for the big one. Either way insure the luggage
