I have started talking to a custom box mfg to see what it would cost to make a very safe shipping box for cues. Please let me know if it is something you might be intersted in. If I get some response I will go forward with design and figure what cost would be. I am also open to any comments on what the box demensions and ideas on inside padding.

They are free from the USPS, FEDEX, and UPS. It's what you put inside the box that makes them safe.

Im more looking to have something made that will last a little better something some one could even store in or use to ship cue over and over again like if they did not want to have cues checked at airport they could ship to them self.

yes I know of different things people use just trying to see if there is any intrest in getting something a little standerdize. and what some one might pay for them not looking to make money but if I am getting them made for myself just thought some others might be interested

Standerdize, hmmm. Good luck.

You guys get the shipping boxes for free!
Canada Post sold the square boxes for $4 and change, but recently quit selling them. Have to go to UPS for them now and I doubt they are free there either. Bubble wrap was aprox the same cost and you got enuff to
pack one cue.

That and usually $22 for shipping international. Nice bite right off the top.

Some day soon (honest Terry !) I'm gonna ship Terry a box you shipped to me Brent .... the only difference will be the contents :)

Any cue I ship I use 4" OD cardboard tubing with a 1/2" wall thickness with hard plastic push in ends.
I get the tubing and ends from work.
This stuff is virtually indestructable!!

I learned here to use a round shipping tube inside a triangular shipping box. The tube provides most of the protection while the box keeps it from rolling around - like off of the truck or conveyor belt.

I recently shipped a butt to PoolCueMaster (Leonard) and he seemed impressed.

My 2 cents,

Gary

You ain't kidding when you ship a cue it is well packaged, let' see if Capefairpool(Rusty) likes it, I reused your tube and triangle box to ship Rusty a Andy Gilbert cue this morning. He will have trouble getting through the cardboard and tape to see his new baby.--Leonard

Those Canada Post boxes scare me anyway. I prefer to use the tubes with end caps.

Never had any mishaps in the past but you know what they say, "Never is a long time".

BTW Dave, 2012 is coming soon. The good news is, we are close to 5000 feet above sea level. Maybe we should head over to Cyprus Hills.

Hard to beat a good tube + free triangular shipping box.
I could see using something closer to a case though, if they could be had reasonably.
