Cue Silk™ Table Cleaner Scam

I take care of five tables at a senior center and keeping the cloth clean is a bit of a challenge sometimes. I've used several table cleaners and was getting tired of the ever rising prices since I pay for this out of pocket.

I found Cue Silk™ table cleaner and was really pleased at how well it worked at just $9 a bottle or so if you look hard.

The latest batch pissed me off. While the label on the bottles says Cue Silk™ table cleaner, the bottles are embossed with "LA's Totally Awesome" which is a cleaner that sells at The Dollar Store for about $1.50 for 16 ounces.

The product is a ripoff from Cue Silk™

You gotta elaborate- are you saying the product itself is a repackage of a dolla stor item or did the place you purchase it from sell a fake?

Here's a different way that's cheaper:

Vacuum the table thoroughly. Some table pros use the strongest vac they can find. Pull all of the chalk dust out of the cloth.

Wet a microfiber cloth and wring it out. Rub the whole table. Get the cushions and the rail tops at the end.

My opinion: never put any liquid other than water (damp cloth) on the table unless you are working to get a stain out.

Try this on one of the tables to do a comparison.

I managed to get some drops of Aramith ball cleaner on my table. I tried to clean it up with woolite and a toothbrush and blotted it dry. Once dry I could see that the stains were still there. Is it possible to remove these stains?

If the cloth is actually stained you might try spray brake cleener. sounds crazy but i know people that have done it with no issues. its basically same stuff dry cleaners use. try it on some random cloth to be sure but i've heard other table guys talk about it.

Thanks GZ
I'll give it a careful try.

Make sure to only use brake cleaner with out the chlorine in it. It will be on the label if it has the Chlorine,,do not use the product if it
has chlorine , it will make the stain bigger if you do. Next suggestion , get rid of the Masters chalk and switch over to Toams Chalk.
It's way more expensive , but you won't believe the difference in how clean the table will be after you change the chalk out along with
how much less you will have to make sure the table are kept clean. Wipe down the cloths on the tables with a wet micro towel and then after they are dry, do it again. Then switch out the chalk. My 2 cents issued

Hey Bob! Miss seeing you at Agilent and thanks for the suggestion.

When cleaning the tables I:

- Vacuum with a Bosch Hepa shopvac
- Use a light cleaner with a terry cloth towel
- Dry with a Microfiber towel
- Brush up the cloth (Simonis this time around)

The tables get a lot of junk on them from older folks who are not too careful with what they eat in the room and often have dirty hands.

Made it four years before redoing the cloth. Enforcing the use of break pads helps a lot, but weekly cleaning is important.

Come down to the center for 75 points of 14.1 or a little One-Pocket? Fremont Street in central Santa Clara.

Chip, cannot use brake cleaner at the Senior Center. Lots of rules about chemicals. Also really tough to get brake cleaner here in California these days.

The bottles have the raised trademark of LA's Torally Awesome and are filled with that brand of cleaner.

The stick on label is printed for the Folks at Cue Silk and stuck on the bottle.

Cue Silk is buying it for perhaps $1 a bottle wholesale and selling it in places like Amazon for up to $23 a bottle.

This is going to hurt!

Hahahah. That is flat out robbery.

I never used any product.

I brush and vacuum, then pat the table down with a terry cloth towel undersaturated with water.
