Cue stick recommendations requested

Hello,

I have recently gotten the urge to play pool again and would like to invest in a cue instead of using the house stick. The amount I am willing to spend is capped at 150 (160 if it makes a significant difference). I'm not sure if player level is crucial in choosing a stick, but I used to play frequently (almost every day) for 3 years or so..but this was 10-12 years ago so maybe I would need something for a beginner? I tried sifting through some of the threads but it has left me rather overwhelmed. Please help!

There is a Lucasi "Custom" right on your price range in the bay. Seller is Nielsen Billiards or something like that IIRC. I was looking at it myself before buying locally. Bought before from him with no problems.

EDIT: These are the ones I was looking at.

For $150 a Lucasi will give the most bang for the buck. I have one and it plays very good and the fit and finish is pertty good also.

Buy a New Viking or Mcdermott they make great cues and your supporting American Economic recovery~:):)

Dale Perry cues make for good players in your price range. I use one in my weekly league and paid $150 shipped for it. My main playing cue was considerably more expensive but the DP plays quite nice and I don't have to worry about taking my eyes off it for two seconds or having someone knock it over or spill beer on it. Check Ebay or put a WTB thread in the WTB/WTS forum and see which guys on here can supply you.

Welcome back the the game!!

Don't get me wrong, but apart from the custom cues, I don't think that many cues are made in the US. Especially at the specific price range. Even those that are made in the US, I wonder to which extend they are made or "finished" in the US. There is a relevant thread on here somewhere, I think it is called "email from Meucci" or something like that. It's an interesting read if the OP missed it.

I looked around for an American made cue in the $160 price range and all I could find was some Schmelke petes. Pretty much all the American made cues were $200 and up. Good suggestion but just not possible.
