Good day to all , I'm asking for some help here. I need a new tip for my cue(s) I am looking towards a Moori and/or a Kamui but can not decide between a hard, soft, or med tip I beleive there is also medsoft tips as well etc etc. Please some one explain to me the differences. I am the type of player that generally like to hit the ball pocket weight I don't like to hit my balls hard unless required to ..just a smooth slow hit for me . thanks to all that reply..looking forward to your replys

If you dont know what hardness you like, get a medium play with it and decide if its not hard enough or not soft enough.

i use a moori hard and for me they are perfect.

I have tried several and for the money I can tell you it is hard to beat a wizard or kamui. I can also tell you it depends on the cue and even down to the shaft for me on what grade I like best. I had a shoan with the 5/16-14 pioloted joint and I used a wizard med on one shaft and a hard on the other. On my current Jacoby with a yellowheart wood to wood radial I have a morri but it is getting changed soon to a wizard med. It just depends on what feels good on that cue/shaft. IMHO

why layered?

Hate to add to your confusion but why layered tips? I shoot a similar style which I call lazy man style referring to myself. I don't move the balls around more than I have to. I prefer a one piece tip that is consistent all the way through. After trying a handful of Moori's to see what the hurrah was all about I'm going back to an Elkmaster, probably a lightly pressed milk dud.

I find that "tip hardness" is subjective.

Put a Sniper on your cue installed by a reputable installer and get back to us on how much you like it!

thank you poolplayer I just PM him I have used a sniper tip before and it worked well but wanted to also try a kamui

don't sweat it bro. i had a kamui and i liked the tips i got from manwon more (actually i got them from ross but he got ripped off so he's banned) but the tips manwon has are hands down better than kamuis. i've tried 2 kamuis and 1 was good and the other glassed over and i miscued a lot with it

Go Kamui

I have had both snipers...and morri's.....hand's down the kamui tip is way better then both!!! I just ordered 2 more Kamui's mediums tonight for my longoni! Goooooo Kamui.
Just a little story here..............
I have a friend that had a morri tip and he thought they were the CHIT...he knew I had an extra one in my case. He asked if he could have it....I gave it to him NO CHARGE!!! He had it put on and with my observation his game has came up a level or two. He loves it compared to his morri. I shot with his cue with the tip on it and it hits unbelievably!!!!! Take my advice...go Kamui!!!!!

Never tried a Wizard yet, but when I came back to pool after 25 years away I discovered layered tips. First I tried Talisman mediums. Nice tips. Since then I tried Moori med, Kamui med, Dynamite, Jensen Milk Dud, BlackJack, Sniper, and a couple more. IMHO each cue will feel differently with any given tip. I'm liking a Moori Soft very much on the cue I'm playing with now...Tom

I went from very hard back to a softer and I am loving it. Just recently had a Blue Diamond installed and I will never switch from it. Finally found the right tip after much experimenting.
Little to no miscues and grips the cueball great. Table length draws are no longer an issue.

Different strokes for different folks

I have gone completely the other way! After about 25 years using only blue diamond or Elk master, I recently tried a much harder Talisman pro, and absolutely love it :)

Just goes to show that while the choice of tip can make a big difference, there is no 'best tip' out there. Different tips will suit different players.
