Cue Tip shape for Billiards ?

I've started playing Billiards recently and even though I should use a constant taper shaft (down to 11-12mm) typically used for Billiards, I am using a stiff shaft with a 12.75 tip and a med./hard Triangle tip. What amount of rounding should a "normal" tip have for use in Billiards, a "nickel" or "dime" radius? We are playing on almost new Simonis 760 cloth on a 5x10 table and hitting the balls quite hard to sometimes get 7 rails.

I still use the old rule of thumb of about a nickle radius. I'm sure there will be varying opinions on this question.

BTW - Interesting setup on the table having 760 cloth. Seems like that might be a bit slow. Typically were putting 300 rapide cloth on carom tables.

Where are the "varying opinions" re: cue tip radius/shape?
