Cue tip trimmers

Hi all. I'd like to get your input on the good choices out there for cue tip trimmers. I've always done it the hard way (manually)

I'm looking at the Porper Big Shaver and considering it. But thought you all may have better solutions. I do see less expensive options, but wondered how effective they.

My primary concern is to flush the tip with the ferrule after replacement. The rest of the shaping really isn't an issue for me and I don't care if the tool offers those shaping features.

My original one is black and says Atremis on it.
I got it at a BCA trade show years ago. From Palko I think
I found the blue ones on ebay a couple of years ago. They have no markings.
You need to be real careful to keep the shaft parallel to the blade or your tip will be pointed.:frown: :yikes:
You also have to be careful to stay off the ferrule.
But they do work for trimming the excess of the side of the tip.:cool:

i've got a porper big shaver i'll let you have for 50 shipped

it works well but i haven't had to change a tip in so long i don't see the point in keeping it

I personally have the porper mushroom grazer. It works likes a champ. It has a knob on the top so you won't cut into the ferrule like that blue pencil sharpener above. Also, that blue thing appears to be cone shaped. I wouldn't want my tip to be cone shaped! The grazer has a blade adjustment feature. This big shaver that is being sold is 4x's the tool the grazer is. It has the total package without having a lathe. I would buy the big shaver from poolplayer, but I have a lathe now.
