I'm using a 56-inch cue right now, and I find it fits me much better than a 58-inch cue.

In your standards, you're more of a Carom player, right Bob?

I happen to be 6'3" @ age 22 (just last Wednesday :o ) and I've owned my 59" Viking Cue. I heard from one of Robert Byrne's books that depending on how close or far you have the bridge from the ferule and how close or far you have your back hand from the balance point will determine if one would want to be either accurate with the shot or how powerful. Is that precise information - in your own two cents?

Actually, I play more pool than carom. I also play snooker.

My $0.02: In general, a very precise shot, such as if you are playing a soft safety off the edge of a ball to slide behind another ball and freeze, will take a much shorter bridge and the back hand will move up correspondingly. Some even move the backhand up some extra so that the forearm is not vertical at impact. For powerful shots, the bridge is longer and the grip hand moves back. I think that for your most powerful shots, the grip hand ought to be not on the wrap at all but rather on the butt plate.
