Cue trade with Trigger, please help

if someone scammed me out of my cue...
There's the scene in the hustler where fast eddie has his thumbs broken... That would be the most generous response to someone ripping me off for a cue. The logical thing would be to contact the police/USPS and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. Having him deal with months of court dates, lawyer fees and court costs would be entertaining.
I would also contact a lawyer and see what the possibilities for civil suits were. If the law failed, well, it would be rather stupid for someone to rip me off when I have their address and phone number. Trigger may be facing someone with a trigger finger... of course this is the illogical approach, and I wouldn't suggest it. Not worth putting yourself in trouble with law over a pool cue... but, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to put up a "Wanted Sign" for him and your cue, and placing it in every pool hall that I could find in his area - the sign of course would include his address and phone number. I'd probably post it on every billiards site that I could find as well.

Tate, just checking to see if you followed up on your promise to reveal trigger's indiscretions to his mother. I think I speak for most of our community that its certainly about time he corrects his wrongdoings and that anyone who has the ability or means to make this happen, should do so.

Civil suit is of course a possibility (he took something and did not pay for it), but legal expense of hiring a lawyer is likely too high for that transaction for a civil lawsuit to be a viable avenue for Nate. I know Nate is in WA, can't recall where Trigger is without reading the posts again. Plus, with Trigger being a juvenile, it just complicates matters even further (they are generally not supposed to be able to enter into contracts). Perhaps Nate can file a small claims complaint in his local jurisdiction and get a judgment, but that only goes so far.
Best avenue: local police, USPS, as others have suggested (with a potential trip to Juvenile Hall in line for Trigger).

Well a little news, a local guy(near trigger) has contacted me and says he has gotten my cue and will ship it out this week, tues.(today) so I will see if it arrives on thurs. or fri. If it shows I will let you all know who got the cue back for me, he is another AZ'er. The cue was worth about $250 on the high end, not that it matters how much a cue is worth when it is stollen, it is that no one should get by with doing this twice here on AZ.

Hi everyone, GREAT NEWS, my cue got back to me today, in the same condition it left, thanks to another AZ'er who is, poolfire , so please, give him some good rep. as this would not have happened with out his help, my thanks to him and all who kept this thread going and putting the pressure on trigger. poolfire is a true cue hunter who came through for me. Thanks a ton, and good luck to anyone this happens to. I have not lost faith in this forum, I may be a little more cautious on who I deal with though. A very happy, Nate.

By the way, the package addressed to his mom with all these nice posts was delivered and signed for as shown below. Maybe Trigger's computer time has been cut off.

Well, I never saw the Mcdermott, I wonder if he really even had one now?? The thing this reminds me the most of is, you go to the casino with $40 bucks hoping to have a good time maybe gain a little or lose a little, next thing you know you have gone to the cash machine and you are down $200 and feeling hopeless, then on the way out the door you find a couple bucks in your pocket, so you do what any good gambler does, put it on the money wheel, of course on the 40-1 spot and bam you hit it, then you walk over to the roulette wheel place a few bets and what do you know you hit them also, one more spin and your back to even which feels as good as hitting a jackpot would have a few hours ago. Me, thats how I feel right now, just happy to be even, or close to, minus my shipping and the few bucks I am going to kick poolfire. Nate.
