Cuemaker ethics - what do you really make?

Now for the other side... I agree that if asked a cuemaker should say sure, I bought the blank from xxx....

BUT xxx should not be telling anyone who is customer database is. There is a certain degree of confidentiality expected when buying product. I am sure this cuemaker thought he was buying the blank in confidence.

There are two sides to every coin. Although I agree with Ross once the question is posed, I also would hold against the providing cuemaker that obviously his mouth is to big and cannot be trusted in matters of privacy and other people doing business with him should be careful, if this is a concern.

Not really, I don't like being lied to any more than you do. Trust is a two way street. Every time I read one of your posts now I'll be wondering if it is truth or game playing. You posted this thread because you don't like being taken for a ride. I don't either.

I'm also a lot more skeptical of the accuracy of your claims about the cue maker in this thread when your other words were false. Could be you are falsely accusing someone based on assumptions you made. Even if I find out who the cue maker is I will wait for someone that is more careful with the truth to make allegations before I take them seriously.

This thread has brought MANY good points up, which is why I didn't start it the way "Hu wished" I would've... I wanted to get everyone's input on the practice of "cuemaker deception" rather than just discuss the one instance I know of.... it was just what prompted me to start the thread.

I'm sorry if you feel I've wasted your time. Perhaps now you can just stick to reading everyone else's threads and not mine... Won't hurt my feelings.

I'd say the one who started this should have gotten his ducks in a row before he said something he thought and could not prove. Then to put someone else down by PM .. When it was just a simple question that was asked. You know who you are and everyone else does also. So if the proof is in the pudding ,,,,Just lick it !! So, the whole point of this thread was to halfway out a cue maker without giving his name to most of us, not truly to have the questions asked in the first post answered. Many people posted into this thread in good faith, including myself, assuming that the questions were raised in a sincere desire for answers. Seems that the cue maker wasn't the only one that was deceptive. It was 144 posts into this thread before you revealed why you started it. The "Truth Avenger" was a lot less than truthful himself! In fact this statement in the first post was a flat lie according to post #144, "They will not tell me who they do this for and I can't even begin to guess in any account who they may be."

Seems that the cue maker isn't the only one that is dishonest. That doesn't make lying about where components come from right but it does make the person who started this thread the pot calling the kettle black!

As I said no proof just a judgement call because someone doesn't want any dealing's with a trouble maker is the way I see it !!<ED

I just got off of the phone with (who I suspected) as the forearm building cuemaker.... his words were "I can't confirm or deny that that I built that forearm..."

Man, I thought there was PROOF of all this. So now we are ASSUMING this to all be true....this is just funny.

I see the point in this thread but calling someone a liar and thief on assumptions makes the OP just as bad...but thats just my opinion.....if there was proof this happened, then thats another story. If in fact the cuemaker in question did lie and he states so, then the OP has some ammunition, but just because he is going off a "feeling" or an "assumption" does not make it right to call someone a liar or thief.......Bad Deal there :nono:

If I made the forearms and you had called me to ask if Cuemaker X made a cue with my forearm, id tell you to talk to the cuemaker. That who I deal with and send forearms to is none of your buisiness.

This all lies on the cuemaker we are talking about.

Ross is not the most likeable person on this board...and I think he knows this. But, I will say this, He always has his facts before he speaks.

He does not want to "OUT" a cuemaker on here and I dont blame him. I see everyones points on this thread and agree with alot of them on both sides.....I do however agree with Ross and I believe what he is saying is true. Even though he wont come out and say it, I do think 100% in my heart that he is right about this cuemaker. The only thing that will solve all of this is if the cuemaker will admit to it. I honestly do not think he will. But all I and we can do is hope.

I want to know what goes into my cues. If I am buying a cheep o cue, honestly I dont care if Eddie Wheat made it, as long as it plays..But if I am buying an expensive cue, I want to know if someone made the forearm other than the cuemaker making my cue. If he is honest with me, I probably wouldnt have a problem with it, or if I did, I wouldl just go somewhere else...no harm no foul.....but if he LIES to me and said HE built the Forearm and in fact he DIDNT...thats where I have the problem......So I agree with Ross on all this and I do think he knows what he is talking about......

I don't think he's going to either. Based on some of his previous actions, he does not seem like the 'stand up guy' so many seem to think he is.
