With all the talk about slow, rude supplier's I thought there should be credit given to those that are meticulous, congenial and super fast. Chris Hightower is that and more in my book. I made a call monday afternoon and after a nice visit and a small order, hung up. It is Wednesday and give or take 48 hours later and I'm sitting here with the box on my lap..... I didn't even know you could get a package shipped that quick with prior planning. All the time having the best price on all the items I wanted. Thanks for everything Chris.

With all our confidence

Nobody posting?

I'll jump in to tell everyone that ,
when I needed Ivory Diamonds, Chris did them within a day, after he finalized the size from me.
By Monday morning, it was being sent.. he didn't even check to verify payment received..
Chris didn't receive payment yet. He was more interested in getting the Diamonds to me... 'cause I had 2 Caps on hold because no Diamonds to inlay..
(Will Prout's and Fatboy's Tad Caps)
At times, good service is a "LifeSaver"...
Chris, you're doing Good!! Thanks..
Alton

I'll jump in the "pool" too and say that Chris IS A#1 in my books also. He has helped me tremendously with any questions I have had.
When I order anything it gets here very quickly even considering I am in Canada - EH!!!

i've order a couple of time and needed info on things and his always willing to take time and help a big asset to the billiard community

Cueman's daughter is da bomb!

I wish I could take the credit for getting your orders out so fast, but it is my daughter Keisha who packs and ships almost all the orders.

Then I'll take 4 cases of good leadership, 3 cases of good business practices, 2 cases of product knowledge, and 1 case of Industry experience! :)

(now who on this green earth could she have learned this from? Hmmmm...)

Ha?.....:shocked2:

At 27 she is far beyond the allowance age. She is in the "give me a raise" age. So I don't think I want her to see this thread. :)

Got the shaft/butt turner from Chris. 40 lng dovetail, headstock/chuck and tailstock.
Will try to get the BanditCNC going soon here.
BanditCNC is a proto made by Edwin Reyes.

The machine looks great. I am a little curious why you put the headstock and tailstock on the particular ends you chose? Hope to see it in action soon.

I'm so used to cutting joint end to bottom/ferrule end Chris.
Should I reverse the motor direction if I want to cut cleaner?

Not really. I was just thinking you had the tailstock handle turned away from you which seemed backwards to me. It should work fine either way.

Have to join on this;
Chris was one of two who inspired me to get going in this "art"
through his book and dvd's.I have them all and I would buy every
new one he makes.I would soon be adding cue parts to my list from
him so watch out for a email from Norway, Chris :)

I had the pleasure of meeting Chris many years ago. He purchased his first lathe from me, when he broke into the cue repair business, We met in a motel room, way back.
We have been good friends from the get go, he helps many and good for him, and those he helps. Chris purchased a 4-head CNC saw-Lathe from me a few years back, he still uses it everyday, and he takes great care of all his machinery, as well as being an inivator to help all cuemakers.
keep up ther great work Chris,
your friend

That is not exactly right but pretty close. I used to get you to put on tips for me at the Wagon Wheel in Atlanta and was fasinated watching you work. Our old friend Harley then bought a lathe from you and then later I bought Harley's lathe from him when he got something else. I can't remember if I was with Harley when he picked up the lathe from you or not. I might have been. It was one of your earlier wood lathes without any spindle bore. I then made a ton of modifications to it and then picked up some similar wood lathes at Home Depot and started modifying them like mine and selling them. I modified it to where you could do joint work and so on with it. I built my first couple of cues with it. So anyone who asks me, I tell them Leonard was the inspiration for me getting into cue building, repair and lathe building. I also know without you the major cue building boom of the 90's might not have happened at all or it might have been several years later. I am very happy with the Saw tapering machine. Like you said I use it all the time.
