Cues inside cases stored horizontally, will they warp?

I’m about to take my table out of storage and set it back up. I have an extra bedroom dresser that would be perfect to store all my extra pool stuff, extra shafts, cues, etc. Its finish also matches the table.

If I place the cues/shafts inside pool cases and then inside the dresser drawers, am I inviting warping? I’ve always stored them standing up.

Most of my better cues have been horizontal for many years. Nothing negative.

I have been told by three cue makers that it doesn't matter. Recently, because of space constraints, I started to store my cues/cases vertically. Before that, I stored them horizontally for 40 years without any warping / wobbling.

The weight of a cue won't warp itself, otherwise we'd all have warped cues just from playing with it the way we hold it.

If it's supported in a case, or completely flat, no issues however you place it.

A cue that warps is going to warp due to outside forces like weight placed on top of it or against it, extreme humidity fluxuations. Whether it's stored up-right or not, a cue prone to warping is going to warp. A solid built cue, like a full core cue, you can lay that sucker any way you want and sleep well knowing she's not moving because you laid it on it's side.

I kept a Schon and 2 shafts in this case stored mostly horizontal for about 35 yrs.
Was only used for about the first 4 yrs the rest just stored.
When I sold it, cue butt and shafts were still straight. Was it the cue or case, who knows, pretty neat old school case though.

Beautiful case. I own a Schon, and tons of players own em around me cause we live 5 mins from where they make em. I've never personally seen a warped Schon. If you put em on a lathe, I'm sure a bunch of them would wiggle, which cue with an A-joint doesnt.... But, they're solid built cues and taken well care of before they hit a customers hands. No surprise it stayed straight.

Is the taco truck still out front of the Schon shop? Haven't stopped by there in quite a few years but got some good tacos from that truck last time I swung by
