Cues on the Joss website...

Im looking at buying the AV04 cue. I went on the net and searched for it but cannot find another one. So are the cues on the www.josscues.com site only available on that site and how limited are they? Anyone know?

I bought that one in January. I only found it at the Joss web page I think because it's an older model of cue. One advantage of buying from the web site is you pretty much get to deal with Dan Janes directly. If you do find it from a dealer it may be a few bucks cheaper but there is something better about the quality of serivce and the guarantee of the cue when you're dealing directly with the cuemaker, especially one with Dan Janes' status and reputation, you just feel better about it. Get the Joss Premium tip installed - you won't be disappointed

Guarantee of the cue? There is no guarantee with Joss, unless you mean the guarantee that they'll ship it to you. Maybe you meant warranty? There is no warrantee either. Dan Janes told me the warranty is off a Joss cue when you chalk it. They are a junk cue and Joss does not stand behind any serious defect in manufacture.
As I said in another similar thread, I had a brand new $750 Joss that the butt alone would jump up and down 1/2" at the joint from warping 3months after I bought it. I sent it to Janes and he offered to make me a new butt for $195. Some warranty huh?
The old saying is true "Let the buyer beware."

Lastly, let me say I don't hide behind an anonomous name or picture. My name is Cliff Boardman, from Binghamton New York and any pool player from this area knows what I have said is true.

JOSS knows.

Pick up the phone. Call them.

Best move you can make.

Nothing against dealers, retailers, distributors etc, but If I were looking for a new JOSS I would go direct to JOSS.

.

Yes go right to website deal with Dan or son Stephen. You can buy from somewhere else but you run the chance of getting it ruined because the company is not storing cues properly.

I had have Joss Cues since 92 and i am still going strong with them and i know a few people that turned in warranty work and were very happy with the end result.

But there just some haters.

Ya i keep hearing the same ole SOB story from you, what ever was wrong with your cue was probably something you did to it cue just don't warp like that for no reason.

He's probably charging you that price because he is certain it was not a defect on there end.

You're a Dick

When you started your childish behavior towards a Joss you bought from a distributor the cue cost $600...now it is $750!:sad::sad::sad::sad: Also you said in a prior rant that your son bought the cue and was the owner! So did you buy it for $750 or your son for $600? Credibility issues always surface when someone forgets what they stated earlier!

Well Cliff Boardman, from Binghamton New York, sounds like you and I had entirely different experiences dealing with Joss.
Is that really your picture?!

Oh Wedge of Wisdom............

It was a $750 Joss and my son Paid $600 for it new. He was in Saudi Arabia at the time in the military. Danny Janes knows the truth and he examined the cue himself. As for your comments, I expect you, like many others on AZ Billiards, to make a judgment call, without knowing any of the facts. This alone qualifies you to be a Democrat.

Facts of the matter remain; Joss has no warranty and their cues are shoddy workmanship. Am I going to badmouth Joss Cues forever? Yes, I keep my promise.

If your Son paid 600 for it then its not a 750 cue, like my cue in my sig was 4200 but i ended up paying 3800 there i have a 3800 Joss Cue.

So the cue made it to Saudi Arabia one of the hottest places in the world that cue must of warped there cause of the heat. Or the way it was shipped there and back state side. That being said it sounds like that the cue was stored incorrectly there so that will void the warranty.

I had my Joss with me in Iraq The whole summer a 115 + degrees and even been blew up and still made it back with me state side with no issues.

I think there is something else going on with that cue that your leaving out.

J & J America has the AV04 for $240 (versus $300 directly from Joss).

The link to J & J America's site is on the Joss website (under Links) so I assume they are an authorized distributor.

The guy is relating his experience the way he sees it. I have no issue with it.

As long as he just says his piece and is left alone about it, he seems to be satisfied with that. He is damn serious, he will post his message in every JOSS thread. As long as it does not go beyond relating what he says happened and how he feels about it, then cool, let him say his piece. He states his case strongly because he feels strongly about it. He only "goes off the deep end" over it when people attack him over it.

I don't doubt for one minute that he had a bad customer service experience.

I am damn serious about JOSS. I know a lot about them and have shot with JOSS since 1985. So this isn't coming from a JOSS "hater" nor any kind of "doubter", it's coming from me, a major JOSS fan.

Let him say his piece and leave him alone about it.

Nobody has ever had 100% customer service success. Never, no way, no how, including JOSS. IMHO this does not really mean a thing about JOSS or Dan Janes, so let him say what he feels he needs to.

I have a high regard for Dan Janes. He is a Hall of Fame cue maker and runs a family business making cues. He still makes custom cues and is a historic figure in the industry. He's also human. Maybe it happened exactly the way Buckzapper says, maybe Mr Janes had a bad day, maybe it happened a little different. I don't know. But even if it was exactly as he says it does not knock Dan Janes or JOSS down one bit. We are all human, so is Dan Janes, so is Buckzapper.

If we squashed everybody that had something to say just because we didn't like what they said then integrity and character could be thrown in the toiled and we could wipe our asses with honesty.

Let him say what he has to say and don't attack him about it. It's wrong.

And that's all I have to say about that. Except one thing: Bury Me With My JOSS, and I mean that.

His posts have gone too far IMO. He needs to start his own thread or write a review for the cue review section. Immature rants are no place where people are trying to have a legit conversation.

I realize he is stating his oppinion but if you even mention the word joss ob a thread he jumps in like jerry sanduky on a mighty might foot ball player

Out of hand out of line

He does it every chance he gets.

But if you leave him alone about it that's all he says on the matter as far as I have seen.

It's the attacking responses that destroy any thread on the matter.

If you really don't want to give him the thread, then don't respond.

I don't respond to him on it.

But I will say he can say what he wants. If you just let him do that then people will see his lone rant in a sea of gushing comments about JOSS. Otherwise they will be reading something like this exchange...about him...and not about JOSS.

Have it as you like though. I said my piece.
