Cues remaining in my collection

I cant be more honest than that. Most people dont understand me, which does hurt me sometimes because I am sensitive about this. I love quality and lasting things not junk.

i have no intention of selling them all off ... the szams are with me for life, 2 of the black boars have good memories attached to them, the ivory handle hercek is my life philosophy on a cue so that is staying with me.. i could go on .... i will thin out the collection by a fews cues that i know will be better served in the hands of others but by and large, the gems will stay with me ...

i am not doing this cos i need the cash ...

i guess it makes me a little sad seeing such great players just sitting and collecting dust ( figuratively speaking :) ) ... i would love them to be back in action ...

but some, the ones that are now a part of me .. they will stay...

life goes on...

have ordered the BMW 550i ... wanted the Jan. production so should be here by april ..

sold my car, sold my apartment .. so am in kinda refugee mode right now :)

new apartment should be ready end jan.

barry, brought the cue up in conversation a few days ago... he said he never names his cue but every time he thinks of this cue, he calls it "the gladiator" in his mind - a weapon in a warrior's hand :)

Awesome collection Kam I think you should keep'em all but if you find the urge to donate any of them I will gladly take one of the Brugges :smile:

Do you know of any shops in Hong Kong that sell decent snooker cues? I already have my own, but might buy a cue for a friend.

You have said something profound here and since you have invited my thoughts on your collecting, I'll offer them.

"...I've made some pretty good friends..." "...I no longer play..." These two statements might seem opposed. Do you collect to play...to experience the performance of the best cues or is your collecting about the journey of discovery and the fine people you have met?

Though we have not met, we share some friends in common...some people who are shrewd judges of character and who are pleased to call you their friend. Keep the cues that remind you of these people and your associations with them.

Whether you collect more cues or not, play with them or just keep them, you are that same person who met and won over so many within the community of cuemakers and collectors. That you keep no matter what.
That aspect of character you carry with you to your next endeavor in life.

Cues are just things, but if you are lucky enough to own one that has meaning to you beyond its beauty and playability, you have something worth keeping.

that is what i will do.. keep the cues from the cue-makers that are now friends...
