Cues which screw together tight

My Starkey with the giant wood pin was the tightest cue I've ever owned. I had to get help just so I could put the shaft on all the way. Now it's fine. The hit ain't bad either, like a one piece.

I just got a Varney cue. Same problem. Into the shop to get it loosened up a little. Don't get me wrong, I like a tight fit.

I can't see much difference in playability. My tight fitting Starkey plays great and so does my loose fitting Sailors. Different feel but both play fine. My SW's, Young, Samsara all feel different when being screwed together but play fine. I just can't feel much difference in playabilty based on the feel of the way they screw together.
