One disadvantage that I see for CF shafts is that they all need an insert. You coukd not screw into the carbon itself like you do for wood. Those inserts would be glued not threaded and some will develop issues over time. In terms of feel, some joints types will be better than others.

Thanks for the info. The ~$1000 for the cue is too steep for me when I’m uncertain about whether I’d like it, but it looks like I could get a 5.1 shaft for ~$400 and then put it on a butt. Do you think that makes sense, and what issues would I need to think about in getting a butt for it?
On my shafts, that I was making, yes the insert into the carbon is glued and not threaded. The glue is a special glue , that we use for our product. On our destructive testing, the shaft section fails before the glued insert ever fails. Shafts from 2005 have not failed, and the joint is still good. Our shafts used an internal tennon and a replaceable tip system, that allows tips to be replaced or changed. This tip system allowed for interchangeable tips on a pool cue, that played as well as a single use glued on cue tip.

Interchangeable tips are almost 100% frowned upon by serious pool players in most of the countries of the world. There hasn't been one yet that gives the feel/feedback of what most players are looking for from their tips. I have never liked any of the screw-on tips I have ever tried. Do you have an alternate way to interchange tips?

I can tell you pros who tried it, and did like it. They were sponsored and could not use it. Some who have tried it are Corey Duel, Alison Fisher,Tim Chin, then others like Chris Hightower,Mike Massey, and quite a few others at the 2009 billiards expo. My latest system which is in my album, has the taper seat with a trick made pin that is threaded down inside the taper seat. This allows for tip holders to be made from most regular ferrule materials, as well as Carbon fibre. The tips are matched to a precision taper seat. Some use my tip system on cues, so a customer can try different tips, before choosing the tip they want on their cue. Ryan who was Rat cues does this, and some others.
Due to health problems, have had to stop making cues, and working on them.

I'm glad they gave info even though, I will not buy as long as it is above 12mm.
Becue is sounding better and better.
Predator's time is running low on time too as far as I'm concerned. I will sell my revo and buy Becue so I can get 12mm or smaller with longer shaft.
Pin options was a plus but that's where the positives end with cuetec.. IMO.
I don't care about price. Not one damn bit. I want, what I want. I'm willing to pay for it as long as it has all the right specs.
To me, I don't think we are asking to much of these greedy a55 spoiled American cue companies.
Give us a choice in:
Diameter
Length
Pin
He'll, even the smallest of shops do that. I know exactly what it takes to offer those in c.f.. it's a little pain but it's a LOT of profit.
I'm done donating to these fookin greedy sobs. Not another nickel until they are more flexible.

Predator, cuetec... and all others should hire you or at least let you redesign there manf plans.
I know your c.f. shaft are a little different than the others but I also know their production could be so close if not exact.
Another benefit is that these CF shafts should not warp though I haven't heard any confirmation yet as to whether this would mean you can leave your gear in the car regardless of temperature.
Maybe someone with knowledge on this can confirm - can CFwithstand a hot car situation?

21.3mm is .840, the exact size of Predator’s joint. Do you think they’re trying to take someone’s lunch money?

Except their own cues. Which means the primary target for this shaft isn’t their own existing cues.
