I have been doing some reading on low deflection shafts/cues and came upon these two. I play on a pool league and just above average skill wise and trying to think of ways to improve my game. Any thoughts on these two shaft/cues?

Walter, unless you're playing with a garbage cue (or looking for your first cue) right now you're better off spending the money on table time...The greatest cue in the world will not improve your game but practice certainly will.

As far as entry level cues go those will both hit the ball well enough...good luck and play well.

LD equipment is the easiest to learn with imo. id keep it simple if i were you though. custom sneaky or one of the new predator sneaks or OB classic shafts. id' say mezz but they're a little pricy, well worth it though

Unfortunately my skinny shaft broke, and had to search for a replacement, i bought the HXT and OB2 (11.75), at first i liked both, but after testing all 7 cues i have, i find out OB2 have the lowest deflection, i actually was going to return it, but it has the lower CB squirt than HXT; this is possibly because the 11.75 tip, if it had 12.75 or larger it probably be like the HXT.
Remember the only way to test squirt is shooting CB at the long rail hard with max english, and shaft parallel to line of aim (not pivoted), do not test CB hitting Object Ball you will mix squirt with EIT, and CIT, also do not poke, do nice follow through.
I have a Duffren house cue one piece 12.75 mm with high squirt shaft, i played with it 15 years ago at the pool hall so good, i bought it from the manager for $25.00 used it a week later and sucked with it, so i kept it in closet and moved it around, when my playing cue broke i dust it off, and shot with it two weeks ago, man it played as i thought it did 15 years ago, the good news i know now why, it has perfect privet point for my natural bridge 7" i wish it was two piece cue!

Moral of the story, do not buy a cue that plays good at different natural bridging position you might not like it.

Buy from Ozone Billiard, great shop, return with no question asked.

I can only speak for the Cuetec R 360. It plays great and it can take a beating. I break with mine. Johnnyt

Aside from playing more and learning new things to get better, I love the HXT cues and shafts. If you are getting a full cue, the series with the wood to wood joint is the one to get.
