Cuetec vs. The Production World

Are you saying?:

(a) ALL custom cues play better than ALL production cues

(b) SOME custom cues play better than ALL production cues

(c) SOME production cues play better than SOME custom cues

(d) SOME production cues play better than a WHOLE BUNCH of custom cues

(e) SOME players play WAAAAAAYYY BETTER with ANY cue

What would you rather buy and why: A brand new car straight off the showroom floor that was made in a plant assembly line by one of the big name carmakers....or....a kit car made my "Melvin Motorhead" that got an "A" in high school auto shop and worked at the service dept. for a dealer and is now putting out his own kit design and parts and is taking 9 months to a year for your car to be ready? Oh yeah...Melvin is also putting everything together with love and care that only YOUR car deserves!!
Good point Driver. But what about custom motorcycles? Same or different? How do you feel about it? Personally I would love to see my custom cue or custom motorcycle be made. Not so much with my car though. Funny huh?

Let me preface this with...."It all depends" on custom vs production...(I play with a Production cue)

For car's I would probably NOT go with "Melvin Motorhead" ....but just so I can stir the pot....

If it were a "motorcycle" .........Instead of buying a "stock" bike...I would get a "Yaffe"....

"I picked this link just for you DM"............. :D :p :D

WOW...you sold me on that one..."Custom Bra and panties" are the ONLY way to go!!! Yaaaahoooooooo............!!!!!!!!!!! (Or was that a website for "Custom Women"?) Either way....Yaaaaaaaahoooooooooo

I am sorry but that is a bad comparison....A better comparison (I think) would be why would you play with forged blades vs cast cavity back....(the cavity backs are much easier to hit)....The reason is feedback / feel / consistency....the better you get the more you will want a "forged" blade.......I am not saying predator shafts are more or less consistant than other shafts, but a single shaft is consistant throughout its life span no matter what make it is...

"some" actually think that predator has better feel...."most" do not.....and the better the player gets.....the less the "deflection issue" is even a issue anymore.....(same as forged vs cast) ......
Well put Sir...I like that comparison better...

Production or custom doesn't mean shit to me on this one...you're asking the wrong person.

Some years back I witnessed a guy on a beautiful "Customized Harley" trying to blow through a yellow light at around 60 mph and some 85 year old that shouldn't have been behind the wheel of a car trying to make a left turn from the opposite direction and blowing the same yellow light and it wasn't none to pretty. The bike T-Boned the car and went flying about 100 yards down the street and the biker laid in the street with blood coming out of his ears, his mouth, and his ass like it was a faucet as I stood right over him helplessly as he took his last breaths. They came with defibrilators and jolted him but it was too late. No motorcycles for this kid....
BTW...the 85 year old got out of the car wandering around aimlessly, unhurt, trying to figure out what happened.

Makes me want to go out and buy another custom cue instead of that Yamaha R1 I have been saving up for. Hate to hear them stories but I guess reality bites sometimes.

LOL. Not unless you got a nice Gilbert floatin around in your house that you "forgot" to show me while I was there. Saez and Morris wouldn't take my money anyways. Favre is another story. I'd be asking the world just to see if he'd give it to me.

How is a cuetec protected from being stolen? Just wondering...

They are not protected from being stolen or damaged. However, if they are stolen are damaged it is not as big of loss. I would rather have a 100 dollar cue come up missing or damaged than a 300 plus dollar cue getting jacked.

I'm starting to feel froggy about dave... wonder what kind of weight he would give me.

skippy

I've shot with all those named production cues (Lucaci, Joss, Meucci, etc), and just liked the Schon's hit more than the others. I also liked the way older Meucci Originals hit, but I'm not a fan of their newer cues. =p

I don't know... watched him wreck Jeff giving up the call 7 and 8... Maybe ask for the 7 out... wild.

No offense meant by this Skippy, but you would probably need the 6 out to beat him in a race to 7...and then you better hope he don't catch wind. As far as games on the wire, I would ask for 3 and pray you string a couple and then maybe you could beat him in a race to 7. Dave don't miss...period...and he shoots mighty strong just about everywhere I have seen him play.

No, but I got that nice Mike Stacey that you seem to like floating around...*wink* I gotta sell it to make room for my titleist conversion I am getting.

ok, recently some people have said some decent things about Cuetec Cues. just wondering what everyone's opinions are about how they stack up against the rest of the production cues out there. Falcon, Schon, Joss, McDermott, Lucasi, Viking, etc, etc.

i currently have about 3 Cuetec Cues, and they are, in my opinion, well worth the money. they arent as expensive as other production cues, have a lot of different ones to choose from, and have some different shafts to choose from as well.

i'd say if your a beginner looking for a quality cue you absolutely couldnt go wrong with a Cuetec. the playability, durability, and affordability all are good as far as i am concerned.

thoughts posters?
is Cuetec a top of the line production cue? or should they be used to roast hot dogs?

Troy Frank has played with some top notch cues like Scroggs, Kersenbach, Capone, Southwest and several others. He now plays with his old Cuetec that he bought for like a hundred dollars. He said it hits as good or better than those other ones. He came in second with it at the Viking tour national championship. amc4

You play with the cue you are most comfortable with..what the pro's use doesnt matter... If Troy Frank eats shit, that dont mean I should eat shit too :D ... Some people like cuetec, some dont period...

They're like Meucci's. I heard a guy left his Meucci in the back of his open truck. When he realised what he'd done, he rushed back and found there were two other Meuccis beside it...

LOL ! Funny... :D

I've tried a couple of Cuetecs and at least the older models feel too whippy, I totally lose the control of the cueball. The whippiness can be seen near the joint, somehow Cuetec vibrate very much. I've noticed that on WPC match videos when you see Earl shooting with english in slow motion. The shaft just vibrates like hell !
