The teachings are perfect. The churches are devised by men and therefore are.. shall we say... prone to imperfections .... imo. :)

The churches are devised by men ? No , The true church is the believers themselves . The physical church controlled and commanded by God to exist if followed correctly you will see a difference .

Another Christian here! However, I've been judged by others many times because I play pool, play for pocket money or more, smoke, and even drink a beer from time to time.
Funny thing is, I've always been judged by the very people that supposedly are believers that ONLY ONE has ever been endowed with the right to judge others.

Nothing wrong with judging if the Bible says its wrong . It realy does not matter if they are hypocrytes or not .

I play pool because Jesus lives. (Colossians 3:17)
They call me Eric "The Preacher" Yow!, because I am a preacher for the Church of Christ. I love what the Lord has done for/with me in my life so far and aim to glorify Him in all things. Occasionally I get fanmail praising me for the things I do with masse (etc). My reply is always the same - I praise God. Period.

Sometimes I get "fanmail" (if you want to call it that) from people, usually kids, who say my videos are fake. I love it when they do because it gives me an opportunity to reply to this effect: When Christ was here on earth, people were amazed at what he could do. Some thought it was magic. Some believed his power and authority came from God, or his diety. Others thought he was a fake. It doesn't bother me that some don't believe what I do is real. All that really matters is whether you believe that Christ is who He is - the Son of God and the Savior of man.

I've been able to corrospond with a number of open-minded recipients of such a message, though many others show no interest. Regardless, to God be the glory forever and ever, amen.

-yow!

I try very hard but the devil is always trying to get in so I sometimes need more nails and more boards to keep him out, but I'm a believer.--Leonard

the legendary mark tadd i've read a lot about you, you're supposed to be one of the greatest of all time! get your ass back in some tournaments! :P

i'm not religious, but i admire and respect christianity. bottom line is, all the westernised countries have christianity in common, and by and large i'm proud of the way the western world has devoloped. it wouldnt have devoloped this way if it wasn't for christianity. i'm on the fence though as to whether i believe religion is all that relevant and important nowadays.

i do believe in god though, or whatever we call it. some almighty being that created everything. not only do i believe this, i want to believe it too. life would feel rather empty to me if i believed that as soon as i die my body will rot away in the ground. nothing more. mind you i said this to my philosophy teacher once, and she replied, isn't the life you've had enough? why should you get more?

rambled on a bit here, hope it all makes sense!

Well you are a very funny guy thats for sure good answer lol .

I'm a Christian.

Now - here is a question to bring the two together (just for opinions). I enjoy a sociable wager at pool, always have. I also enjoy sociable wagers at other things. No, I wouldn't gamble my rent money or put myself or family in jeopardy....so does it say anywhere in the bible if gambling in and of itself is wrong?Just curious to hear from someone who is more biblically knowledgeable than myself.

Mark-

Just wanted to say you're one of the best players I've ever seen, ever. Saw you when you came through York, PA about 15 years ago or so.

I know that's not what you asked in your question, but I know you're in/out of pool often now. I just hope you stay in permanently.

was a "christian"

I was a "christian" during my early years. However after finding what the modern day christians around me truly believed in times of crisis, I believe that the world needs more lions. As grandiose as it sounds, I follow my own set of ethics largely based on Judeo-Christian ethics but with a bit more old testament than most profess to follow now. I also created a few rules of my own more than thirty years ago. I adhere to my rules and ethics over 99% of the time and it pains me far more to divert from my path than it bothers the average "christian" to sin. If there is a judgment day, we will all find out how we stand. If there is a just God I don't think I'll fare too badly.
