Curious on what people think on this subject. Cue trade issues

“Thank you for the question.”

You’re welcome.

However, I don’t believe you answered the question.

Did you inform him prior to the razor blade escapade?

This is a sticking point for me because that is the moment when you took your fate into your own hands.

Seems a simple question.
I believe he said that he asked to unroll the trade before doing it and Ken was against it. Not sure he had a ton of options, try to fix the wrap or send it out. Ken was not paying for the wrap.

You guy heated up the finish, probably spinning on the compound 5,000 rpm, to where it lost adherence. That can't be the other guys problem.

Reverse the trade or just let him be mad. Or maybe split the cost of repair.

I think this is the crux of the problem. He didn't like his end of the trade, you liked yours.
In fact, he tried it and he loved my cue. He just didn’t like the cosmetic issues. Like he said, his friend was making comments about it.

I did told him that I will send him the cue back at one point. He asked to buy a set of JP, then I offered him the set of JP that bought from James Baxter ,but I can’t do both JP and the 150$ repair on top. So He changed his mind and get it send to Tascarella. I also told him it’s a small cosmetic that doesn’t effect the playing ability, so why don’t he try to use it then send to Pete Tascarella later if it get worse. i would still pay him 150$ from the original estimate and that’s it. Few weeks later he told me Pete might charge for the wrap also. I believe he might have caused the damage by repairing it. That’s the problem right there, I don’t have issues to pay for the cue or the issues that my guy may have caused, but the guy keep asking for more and more, So I draw the line. He tried to do the repair himself and caused more issues, that’s not my problem. I don’t mind at all to get the cue back, if he can get it repair back to original condition that I sent him then I will trade back. I’m also done with This issues.

I tried my best to help the guy, I know how hard it is to make $$ and also on a fix income. But again don’t blame me on the problem he caused, I was happy to pay 150$ as Pete jr estimate to get it fix. I was ok to help him paying for the shipping label to get it there to get it fix. Even after he damaged the cue, I offered him an ivory kikel to trade for it.

Thi’s guy asking tooooo tooooo much and now he even called me a liar. I didn’t lied to him, at all. If he didn’t like the cue, I did offered to take it back. I did all I can. Have a good day all.

Reverse the trade. I don't care how a cue plays if it comes with a messed up finish. Who here would purchase a new Vette that drove and handled like a dream, but had been side swiped at the Dealership, for MSRP? No one. Brian.

I agree, the guy wouldn't have messed with it had the trade been reversed like he asked for before messing with it.

Still giving this thought. Should have been dealt with immediately...as soon as the package was open and cue inspected. Was the cue condition fully disclosed?
Come up with a reasonable figure and split the cost.... or go see Judge Judy..and hope she does not collect cues.

I would also love to take my cue back.

How do I accept the condition like this. (1st picture) probably cost 500$ to refinish

From a small issues like this (2 & 3rd) picture, where only 150$ estimated with Pete JR.

I should have known this would happen,
All one sided bashing.
No one cares about the truth, just the opportunity to bash someone.
Jimbos army all over again.
Trans army now.
Have more fun with it.
You significantly altered the cue's condition and it was a regretful choice to do so.

Why didn't you take it back when he requested at the start of the deal?
I did brother, I agree to send back the cue, as reversed the deal. He wanted to buy a JP from me, then He changed his mind after talking to Pete jr.

I didnt agree on the buy back deal til the cue is in my hand or I get to see how badly damaged he has caused. I’m ok with 3300$ he asked for but who knows if anything else was wrong with the cue.

I have an idea. Send the cue to proficient for a total refinish (go with white and green spec linen). It will cost $250 and the cue will come back better that new. Then flip for the $250. The flip loser has the option to play a race to 7 for his $250 back.

That's perfect.

I like that idea. I don’t mind sending the cue to Scott, we know each other well enough. I’m also have another cue with him at the moment.

Moneys isn’t going be an issues to repair the cue,
But I didn’t trust Mr magic enough on his “repair experience” performed on the cue. I can’t pay full 3300$ To him when i known he has tried to modified on the cue. I had it happens to me before, sold a cue to a guy, afterwards he went and add an extension on it. Then asked me to take back the cue cause it didn’t really fit his playing style. As a friend, I did took it back cause I trusted the guy. The cue had a cracked and it’s a very small crack that looks like a scratch. Therefore, I stopped buy back cue if I knew it been modified and I need to see it before paying full amount. I believe it’s a fair decision.

To me the common sense thing to do would be for Mr. Magoo to accept the $200 offer from Kenny and take it to wherever he feels comfortable having the buttcap refinished.

I would absolutely do that.
And also he needs to send me my custom JP back. 🥹🥹🥹. I told him, he can’t milk me by wanting everything but paying nothing.

I deal with cues weekly, 4-10 a week and 40-80cues a month. Many are a lot more $$$ than this, and I don’t have any problems at all. I always upfront and taken care of business. In Facebook, I’m admin for 50-60 Cue groups with no issues spotless n clean reputation. Same as here, the last time someone complained was because the cue is too light and he wanted to returned it. I reluctantly had to because I promise if he didn’t like the cue then he can return it, but I meant on the physical of the cue, never I thought about anything else. Anyhow, if he wants 200$, I don’t have any issues sending to him to get it repair, but I want my JP back ask it wasn’t part of the deals and he wanted extra. After that, delete this post and his comment calling me a liar, of which I had always transparency and upfront with him.

I am done on this drama fest. If someone has a sane question for me, please message me.
Mr Magoo, what's up with the joint protectors? That's a sane question.

I have accepted the loss. Then ken had to start this one way thread bashing about me.

For total compensation i recieved the generic JPs that are of poor quality.
I asked for a refund on the JPs, Ken agreed. I have received nothing in my PAYPAL.
Becouse the lack of trust, I will not ship until I receive funds. He will not ship until he receives the JPs---stalemate.

Ken sent 2 shipping labels. Too and from the tasc shop, and later canceled them.

I'm not out to bash Ken, I'm only trying to tell the whole truth.

Ken would have been an excellent attorney, butt there would be a lot of felons on the loose,
or a lot of innocent people locked up.
