hey guys ive been thinkin about this since my son first started playin pool when he was 3 on his little table! Hes 7 now and says he wants to play pool when he grows up and have a nice cue like daddy, and believe me he knows the great makers at his eage hes very shrp, i was wondering if anyone would make a custom cue that i could have made to fit him and he could keep to hand down to his kids as a first CUSTOM cue, not just a sneaky, but a real cusotom cue with some ivory and such?

I know Mike bender made a cue for a Friends son and it was not overly priced at all. Plus he is a great guy to deal and hang out with.
I had the plusher to do so the last Vally Forge.
Their are other great cue makers out their that can help you and your son just ask them I'm sure they are willing to help the youth and up and coming players out
Best of luck to you and your son. If you need any help just PM me
Thanks Chris

thanks! i was thinking along the lines of the classic style with ivory something along the lines of the barry sz. cue style for him!!! make it a classic hell always remember and can hand down, not just some cheap cue even though hed be excited either way!

I know Crown Cue are making Kid Cue, as BHQ . But if you looking for a classic I would say Todd Elkins [Parrot Cue] in Richmond,Va. But as alway - it depend on what you want to spend.

I saw a cue that Mike Pancerny made for his 7 yr old boy and I was sooooooo impressed. Mike is a great cuemaker and a fantastic guy. You certainly couldn't go wrong discussing it with him. www.customcuemaker.com Everything Mike does is done with meticulous care...Tom

Talk to BHQ. He made a custom cue for Lisa's(ridewiththewind) daughter. Here's the pic's: BHQ thread

Yes, he did...and she just loves it!! And she loves showing it off too...LoL. Brent did a great job on it, couldn't have been happier.

Someone recently showcased a cue that was made for their child which had a neat concept....it was in a child sized length, likely 52"...but had an additional 6" of butt that screws in to the current butt, kinda like an extender...so that the cue could 'grow' with the child.

I tried to locate here in AZ again, but to no avail. :frown:

I wouldn't advise spending big money on a cue for him at this age. He needs something about 48" to 52" long to learn with. When he gets to where he can play good with this cue (maybe in 2-3 years), then think about moving him up to a full size cue. He might lose interest in pool for all you know. It's happened to a lot of pool prodigies.

Tap, tap, tap, Jay! Yes, I did have Brent make up a cue for Katie...but it was from back when he still learning to do his butterflies on old house cues, and this one was a 'boo-boo' cue, destined for the burn pile...it was turned a bit too thin for a normal length cue, but just perfect for smaller hands. The pricing was VERY reasonable. She has already gotten our money's worth out of it, and she'll keep it as a personal keepsake, since it has her name and birthday on it. :) Of course, it does help that we have a table at home.
