I'm having a new cue made for me by Ernie and although so far only the shafts are made, I thought some of you might like a peek. It's the blue one in the pics. The colors will be much brighter when the finish is applied. I expect the butt to begin in the next few weeks and I'll post some pics if anyone wants to see. It should be very unique....WAY off the catalog. I get a new Gina every 40 years whether I need it or not.

Very nice flair on the shafts. I assume some of the motif is carried on to the cue somehow. Will it have a wrap? If you're going black leather, go for the elephant ear. It has a terrific hand to it and looks great.

yes, it will have 4 prong ivory points surrounded by the same black and blue veneers with the same blue and black "arches" between the points. the butt will have ivory boxes with windows of the same veneers and the same arches between the windows. I'll post more photos as the build continues.

Thanks joey. Hey, how did u get the large photo in the post, when I tried it said it was too big?

Wow...
That is an impressive looking shaft.
Creative design and the silver colors in the rings do compliment the flair in the shafts.
Very interested in seeing how the cue evolves so please keep us posted.

Thanks for posting a link to the pictures.

Very nice shaft design. I agree this is way outside of Ernie's common designs.

The shafts to the far right of yours with the points in the shaft look very interesting as well.

For the larger avitar, there is a club membership on the main forum. This is where if you support AZBilliards - the larger avitar is one of the benefits.

Hope you keep us posted on your cues progress with lots of photos.

Well, you have seen almost as much of the new one as I have. Ernie has only done the shafts so far, but should be starting on the butt in the next few weeks....I'm super excited but trying to contain myself since it will be awhile before it's done. I live very close to Ernie's shop so I hope to get pictures of the build as it progresses and intend to post them here for all to see.

Thanks,

Joe

Well since you have the luxury of living close to his shop (I'm on the east coast) why don't you take some pics of the cue he's making for me right now while you're at it haha. Mine should be done by this summer some time... I can't wait, I'm tired of playing with my current cue.

Hahaha, I'll be glad to...PM the name it's ordered under and I'll see what I can do....although who knows if he's started it yet.....Ernie is as fast as anyone I've ever seen on a lathe, but it's gotta get ON the lathe first...:)

He's goin' on vacation soon, I think the end of this month so I expect we all will be waitin' a little longer...he's got a lotta nerve enjoyin' life while WE are waitin' for cues!

all the best,

I doubt we will have to wait longer... unlike most cuemakers, Ernie is usually right on time with everything. After making cues for almost 50 years I guess he's got it down to a science haha.

Oh yeah, you got that right, I meant a little longer from now, Ernie's shop is the most impressive I have EVER seen and I've seen quite a few, his character is the most impressive of any cue maker I have EVER met...maybe that's why his cues are among the most impressive ever made....:)

for you gina lovers

How would you like to have ernies first cue when he came back #123-88 I think it will be a real collector! loaded!:)

I know he numbers the cues with the year, and an "I" for the ivory joint, he begins the year with 123 rather that 1?

and YES...I do want that cue.....I'm sure you'll let us know when you get a hold of it....:)
