Custom Joint Protectors for Mezz Wavy Joint?

I'm trying to find someone that could make me a custom joint protector for my mezz wavy joint cue. If anyone could do it, shoot me a PM.

tho, I don;t know if Jim has the tap for that thread. As far as I know Mezz is the only producer of it...(smart***es...lol)

You should try anyay, Jim is the man for this job.

Joint protectors need not be precise, getting the pitch correct will suffice.

I believe that Mr. Baxter could easily match the thread/ pitch of the thread.
Bob Runde uses 5/16 x 14 thread but they don't match Schon with the same size pin.The pitch is different,so that you can't easily use a Schon shaft on a Runde cue.Some cue builders do this so that you have to buy a shaft from them.If I were a cue builder I would consider doing this as well.It creates more business for the builder.Not an uncommon practice.Also it is already stated in this thread that J/P's need not be as precise as the shaft thread.

Indeed, Wavy joint is special joint, Batalarms. Like no other. Just my 2 cents.

i doubt it. nobody in the states seems to have a tap for the wavy joint pin

This is Very true , It creates more business for the cue maker , BUT what about the cue buyer that wants custom j/ps and the cue maker don't like to build j/ps because they are a pain in the a-- . What about the buyer when the cuemaker retires or even worse , not around any more to make shafts or anything . Then its time to pull that Basterd pin and plug the shaft , replace with something anyone can work on . Blud is a perfect example . Uses a Basterd thread and had retired at least once already . Sorry for ranting . Jim

No problem Jim,
You make a very good point.What may be good for the builder,may not be good for the buyer/owner.I hadn't thought of that aspect,but I totally agree.There is something to be said for "uniformity" in manufacturing.I often don't like products that are "prioritized" and are not compatible with other accessories,devices,software,etc.I learn new/good stuff here a lot.Thanks Jim and have a great night.

mezz do make their own wooden joint protectors. Try a mezz dealer or you can try newart japan. They have a English speaking rep and easy PayPal payment system
 
The problem you have is the joint. I doubt Jim Baxter or Alton can help you.
I'm assuming you're in Taiwan? I'd suggest you contact Chady Liu and get him to help you cos Zen can make those Jps for you. I know he can make shafts to match Mezz but I'm not sure if has the pins to make the JP for the butt though. Worth a shot.
