What a terrible looking pool room. Ill tell you what Ill bring my flat bed trailer over and we'll jack the room and set her on the the trailer and ill haul it away for free, is that a deal?
If you can do that for him, I have a perfect plot of land where you could place it at! That way we're both helping him!
Weekly update
Weekly update. I got some work done this weekend but don't have pics. It wouldn't show much if I did. All the work I did was the same I've been doing including finishing up some small details complete all of the paneling. My next goal is to build the Bar facing, cabinet doors, complete the trim, build the wine rack and install the shelving . I also need to install the mirrors and glass shelves before I add the top Bar facing. So sorry for the lack of pics this week but hope to have some up soon that really show some progress.

I'm sure I speak for everyone that has followed your project, it is going to be a sad day for all of us when you finally finish building the room and have the tables set up and ready to play, and all of the other furnishings, decorations, etc... in their place. Hopefully you can keep adding photos and info for a long time to come as you add a new item here and there. Heck, let us know when you restock the Bar and Wine Rack!
Although I don't always sign in to do so, I check up on your progress 1 - 2 times a week and I'm always impressed with the amount of work you can get done in such a short time, along with the quality of the workmanship.
I wouldn't be surprised if upon completion of the room that you would have offers from some of the Billiards magazines or other building publications to do photo shoots of the room along with the story behind it. I am surprised that you haven't heard from any them yet, what with the popularity of this thread.

I know Billiards Digest does a story every year on the best pool rooms. It might be worth sending them some pictures or just a link to this thread so they can have a look. After all the work you've done you deserve your 15 minutes. :thumbup:

I hope this happens with more then just one or two magazines. Projects like this would appeal not only to "every" discipline in the "felt-world" (=various type magazines); but, to any do-it-yourselfer seeking the ultimate man cave. There are numerous websites out there that should pick up on this as well (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Do+It+Yourself). Wouldn't it be nice if some cheese was gotten from this to offset some of the cost!

Wow guys thanks for ya'lls support, I have thought of the day when I complete this project and think what am I going to do? It's been a fun experience sharing with all of you my journey. I did get a request from Bigtruck (www.poolactiontv.com) for an interview when I'm done. He said he'd come down with lights and cameras and shoot everything in HD. Now thats flattering! But I'll try to keep the photos coming and also interesting. I still have some pretty cool details to make, like the table lights and the pool rack. I'll make sure to include as many photos as possible. I'm thinking of documenting every step of the build when it comes to those items which will be really soon. Well again, thanks for ya'lls support and interest. Expect more pics Monday.

What kills me is that it seems you'll have your entire pool room done before I get my Anniversary table's restoration project completed. The good news is, I FINALLY was able to purchase the walnut veneer to finish the dang legs. Then it's reassembly (and party) time!

Well I was able to get a few things done this weekend. I picked up the last of the 3/4" plywoods I'll be needing! I'll rip these for the bathroom wainscot and the door and window trims. Here I ripped the peices and applied the veneer for the interior window legde. I then built a square box and inserted it. I still need to intall the outer trim.

Bar Trim
I grouted the back-splash tile and added the inner trim of the bar. I routed a 1/4" chamfer to the edge. I've been wanting to add this piece for the longest time but I needed to groute first.
After I stain and seal the bar top I'll add a bead of silicone to the inner edge.

Well Petroboy convinced me to recess the top lights!:wink:
Here I added the face trim of the top portion of the Bar. I have not attached it with glue or brads yet. I still need to install the mirrors before or else I'll never get them in. Recessing the lights really helped conseal them. This is the look I was aiming for. Before the trim, the lights were pretty overwhelming, now they are directed in that particular spot. I'll add a 1.5" board at the bottom to raise the bottom glass shelf and also help hide the bottom puc lights. I temporary layed down pieces to get an idea how they will work.

I was really excited this weekend. I finally got the glass shelves in. I installed them and the mirrors. After that I was able to secure the facing with brads and glue. Again, the pictures don't do it justice. The camera just doesn't capture the correct lighting.
