I wouldn't be surprised if upon completion of the room that you would have offers from some of the Billiards magazines or other building publications to do photo shoots of the room along with the story behind it. I am surprised that you haven't heard from any them yet, what with the popularity of this thread.![]()
I know Billiards Digest does a story every year on the best pool rooms. It might be worth sending them some pictures or just a link to this thread so they can have a look. After all the work you've done you deserve your 15 minutes.

That is a great suggestion! It would be awesome if they did a story on your project and chronicled the whole project!
I hope this happens with more then just one or two magazines. Projects like this would appeal not only to "every" discipline in the "felt-world" (=various type magazines); but, to any do-it-yourselfer seeking the ultimate man cave. There are numerous websites out there that should pick up on this as well. Wouldn't it be nice if some cheese was gotten from this to offset some of the cost!
This thread is the nutz!
Wow guys thanks for ya'lls support, I have thought of the day when I complete this project and think what am I going to do? It's been a fun experience sharing with all of you my journey. I did get a request from Bigtruck (www.poolactiontv.com) for an interview when I'm done. He said he'd come down with lights and cameras and shoot everything in HD. Now thats flattering! But I'll try to keep the photos coming and also interesting. I still have some pretty cool details to make, like the table lights and the pool rack. I'll make sure to include as many photos as possible. I'm thinking of documenting every step of the build when it comes to those items which will be really soon. Well again, thanks for ya'lls support and interest. Expect more pics Monday.
Did I miss something or did you take the weekend off?

what is going in the middle of the back bar where the wires for the pucks are? I love the design but I would have recessed the middle 4 lights and added more wood to make a cover over the wires and fixtures. I have followed this thread and your workmanship is topnotch you are making a great room and I always look forward to your updates.
If you're refering to the middle shelf, I plan on adding a second piece of plywood on top (double shelf) to cover the wires. Funny you mentioned about recessing the top lights, I thought about that and still might, (I was to tired to drill the holes) but I need to add all of the trim facing. The middle shelf will have a 3-1/2" oak face, wide enough to cover the lights. If they're very visible I'll drill the holes and be sure to credit you for talking me into it!
