Custom Pool Room

(2) I also was able to hang the Cue Rack. I cut the mirror to size and attached it with silicone. I bought felt from Hobby lobby and attached these with spray adhesive. I flipped all the cut circles upside down and sprayed them I then cut a hole in cardboard and used this to spray the rack. I just layed it over the hole and it keeps adhesive from ruining the finish.

Bar

I applied the third coat of poly, a few more to go. My wife helped me in staining the bottom bar shelves which I think came out great conisdering they're MDF.
You will notice how the grain is still noticible on the finish. After every poly coat I sand it smooth and by the time I lay down the last coat it should be flat like glass.

I aslo installed the cabinet knobs. I had a few left over from other projects and it came down to these two. I thought the pulls may give it too much of a kitchen feel, so I decided on the small knobs.
On the floor is the Wood flooring I plan to lay down. It's a dark oak which I think (hope) it will contrast nicely with the Red Chestnut.

Thanks for the kind words, My first line of cues will be released next fall, I'll be naming them Warped Cues. The second line will be named Almost Straight Cues.

It's probably been mentioned already, but have you already installed the AC/Heat unit? I see the openings for the vents, but there are no fixtures in place yet.

Funny you ask, I pored the concrete pad Friday and wired the double pole breakers for the Air handler unit and the Condenser unit. I also gutted out the inside unit and reset the coil. A neighbor came by to help with the copper lines which still need to be insulated. After I install the carpet I'll begin installing the Spiral duct supply. When I get home today I need to run the drain and connect the thermostat. I hope to have it running by this evening!

Here I just made a simple 1.5" form and dug down 2" to give it some thickness. I pored the bags in one at a time and mixed it. This worked great. It was in the high 60's Friday morning and a great time to out working!

Updated Pic

Heres a updated pic of the room with the recently stained Oak. When I install the carpet it will darken it up a little more. But! once I build the table lights it will help lighten up the middle of the room.

Man, you're killing me! That room looks so fantastic! I love everything you've done! So I'm thinking maybe you want to build my next home.
 
This is one of the main reason I come to this site. I love the work you are doing and cant wait to see the finished product. Great Job :thumbup:

Yesterday after work I got the A/C system running. Awesome!
Then my father showed up and we connected the water feeds and drainage to the Bar and Bath. Of course I was the one crawling under the room connecting and insulating the pipes.
After my father left I connected my reciever to the speakers to have some tunes.
Sorry no pictures, even though it was a lot of work that got done, pics wouldn't really show much.
 
You have a knack for envisioning things in your head! I really thought the natural oak looked great, but the stain makes the room look like an actual pool room. You picked a perfect color that’s consistent with your theme. I’m sure most of us would not have agreed, (keep the natural color) but your making believers out of us.
 
I showed this room to my wife....now she knows why I started to build a 16' X 24' addition to the back of our house. Its not just a "family room anymore".
 
Flooring

Evening before last I was able to lay the wood floor down with the help of my son and install the ceiling fans.

I also hooked up the the computer to the reciever to play mp3's. Still have a few details to complete, like installing the door hardware, stain glass, painting the interior doors and completeing the A/C return.
 
It just keeps getting better and better. I'm jealous beyond words.

I hope someday to share a beer and a few racks with you at......um.....wait.

You gotta come up with an official/unofficial name for your pool room.

Rack de Dsoriano? Maybe just..........."The Room".

Or wait, how about "CPR". We've all eagerly awaiting new postings to "Custom Pool Room" here on AZB.

And after seeing the vision and quality of work here, we all will need some CPR when it's done.

I'm getting SUPER excited! I'm already SUPER jealous! And of course SUPER happy for you!

Practicing talking like my teenage daughter. How did I do? lol

Anyways, I am getting very excited as the project is nearing it's end. Such beautiful work!:clapping::clapping:
 
Wow, what a classy place. I will fly down and give dance lessons and bar tend just to see this in person.
Love the choice of stain. Sets it off so deep and rich.

You did pretty good, although you reminded me more of my 6 year old. lol
But yeah we're getting excited too, especially my wife. She can start to see how awesome its going to be having this in our back yard. Shes already planning her Girl's night out with her friends.
And I'm looking forward to shooting on a regular basis! It's been two months that I've played!

Thanks guys. I had a lot of friends tell me to to leave it like it was, but no matter how nice it looks its a deceiving look. It's like raw furniture, it's seldom you see clear stained Oak. Pine yes, but not oak. Now a nice honey maple stain is nice, (actually any stain is nice) but any lite stain would have been to light for the room color and it would have clashed.
Now I hope im not coming across as a know-it-all, let me just say I have humbly learned from my mistakes, and unfortunately, LOTS of them.

I don't think you'd be out of line having a cover charge at the door for the first couple of years!! That place is going to be awesome. I can already tell that this is going to be much better than any pool room that I have ever been to and this is your personal room. Unbelievable!

For any pool player that wishes to travel around the states to visit all the big time pool halls, this has got to be the number 1 on everybody's list. It's definitely mine!!:thumbup:

Sorry to dissapoint, but no pics this week. We cleaned and vacuumed several times and got the room spotless. I wrapped up all the small details I needed to get done. This coming weekend I plan on completing the bath. I think I have the final design nailed down. We'll see how it turns out
