NOt collector cues by any means. They play ok, not a terrible cue for the money. Wouldn't own one myself. Read through the threads, should give you a idea.

DP cues

Hi, I have owned alot of DP cues and still have maybe 4 or 5 of them. The pin goes into wood and if you like that type of hit they play just fine. As for workmanship I would judge it to be a good mid-range type. I haven't really had much in the way of problems with Dale's cues. Biggest drawback I see is in the resale market, as in buy em mark em up and sell them at a profit. If you are buying as an investment might want to look elsewhere. If you are buying to play with go for it.

Thanks Guys. Very informative. Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.

Has anyone noticed that the much maligned DP is doing pretty brisk business over at the bay? Steady bidding on most everything he puts up, and couple of his "1/1"'s have even topped 500. He's certainly moving product.

After all the commentary, I may try one myself if I can find a design I like for about 2. Wouldn't pay much more for all the reasons cited here at Az--especially the customer service gripes.

Actually, what I have noticed is that he has begun putting Buy-it-Nows for many of his cues in the $279-299 area. A couple of his cues have gone for around $500, but most are struggling to get $250. The real shame is that a few years ago, these cues were bringing $1200-1800.

Check it out for yourself.......

Hello,
I have owned Seven Dale Perrys and Three of them have been some of his newer ones. In My Opinion, His Newer Made cues Hit "OK" at best. I have and use one of his older cues. Some of the original stuff. There is a difference. I can tell for sure.

i think his stuff would sell better if he got rid of that 1/1 crap. just makes the cue sound stupid and cheap.

older DP sneakie

The sneakie I mentioned on my post that hit great was made at least 5-years ago, would that be considered some of his older work? I actually traded it for a fairly valuable cue, and when someone commented that I got the better end of the trade, I reminded him that the DP cue was a 1 of 1 with a certificate of authenticity

If you are going to buy one of his cues, make sure to get one of his "Limited" cues. They are MUCH rarer than his 1/1 cues.:D :D :D

I recommend them somewhat

I would rather have a DP cue verses a Meucci or J and J or something along those lines.

I think if you can get into one reasonable, new or used it is okay. But as mentioned resell is tough.

I found someone that wanted one that I had and made out okay (not great) but okay. Frankly, it played great, but I was glad to move it as I dont see the resell getting any better.

But hell, the resell of about everything now sucks. I am continueing to sell or trade up, I am doing the trade 3 for 2 of yours or the 2 of mine to get 1 of the higher end stuff.

As all of you have seen here, this is the worst I have seen the market.

I also had a SP by dale. This was a 1/12. I got it from a guy out of town.
He thought he was hott stuff trying to impress everyone in the place.
I sent him home Cueless and Broke. I was going to break it right infront of him but The cue dident do anything. I think the cue was about Four or Five years old.

The Cue I use is an older Dale Perry from the 80's, It's Older than I am.
I tell people that and They seem to get a kick out of it. I always try to stay as Humble as I can....
