Dale Perry Cues

Dale does not spin the cues he sells on ebay to my understanding. I was very stupid one day and picked one up. The forearm had a nice burn mark on it and all the finish was uneven with streak marks and chips through out . I thought it may have been due to shipping then I got to see one of his older cues. No difference... Dale as a person is a great guy but I personally don't think I could even give him a fair shake if he changed his business practices. Are you looking at the cues on ebay or from a private seller. The ones he sells on ebay are cues one of his shop guys build to practice making cues.. I love some of his design's andsome of the wood used is stunning, just workmanship and quality are not up to par with where they used to be before he went to the "the Bay"..

I've been to Dale's shop a few times for tip replacements and shaft work since his shop is only a few miles from me. He does have some guys working for him. Two at least that I've seen there. I haven't played with one of his cues but I've seen quite a few around on league night since they are popular here. Very nice looking cues. One thing I noticed about him while at his shop is the guy works fast. Maybe too fast. He's kinda hyper.

BW isnt lieing but I havent shot with a Perry either. Usually if he says a cue hits good it hits good!

they seem to hit ok appear to be seconds would be pissed if i spent alot of money on one of his cues and guy had a three hunrded dollar factory second on table next to me that looked like my cue
My friend had one, paid well over $200 on ebay... the joint ring on the butt got loose and he had to sent it to Dale for repair, the cue got trashed while going through U.S customs... to a degree that according to Dale was unrepairable...
It's not Dale's fault that the cue got trashed but if he (or his helper) would have built it right from the first place the whole incident would have been avoided....
I would spend my money elsewhere...

I did not mean it that way.. I will say something if I know it to be true.. Dale was a great guy to talk to on the phone, if he wasn't I may have never given him my money. We all learn things in different ways and you only really learn when it's you that makes the mistake. Dale did make a great cue way back in the day and I would shoot with one in a heartbeat but things change with time and with the economy. We all have to eat somehow...
I was just by his shop again today and while I was there I asked him how many cues he was putting out a month and he said about 120.
I can only tell you that I own 2 DPs that I bought on ebay in the last 2 years. They hit great, look terrific and I love 'em. A number of people that are Scruggs owners that have hit with them compare the hit to their Scruggs are are amazed at the price. One is a purple heart and ebony and the other is ebony and wenge.
My opinion is that for less than $300, they are an excellent value.

I feel terrible for all the people who bought his cues back when he was a real custom cuemaker. He's completely wrecked any secondary market in his cues -- he's selling full inlaid cues for less than the price of a shaft.
They're probably the fanciest cues you'll find for the money, but for my $200 I'd rather go with a production cue, like a McDermott or a low-end Joss. If anything goes wrong there you can turn to a big company to make it right.

Got one and I love....would buy one again for the same money.
Like Brian said,your milage may very,but I don't hesitate to recommend a DP based soley on my personal experience.
