I've had a lot of cues pass through my hands but never had a Dale Perry until today. I bought a cue case combo (basically for the case) and it came with a Dale Perry. I wasn't really fond of the idea but the cue was basically free. Before I give my opinion on the cue I will first say that for the last ten years I've been playing with a Lambros up until recently when I retired it to my safe and began playing with a wrapless titlist conversion.
So anyway, on to this DP cue. A really good once over and I can see 2 very small glue lines around 2 inlays but they were not very prominent at all. Finish looks immaculate, and the cue (used) rolls dead straight. I didnt have a clue about DP's LD shaft (DP-R) when buying this package but this cue has it.......now I'm feeling even better considering it's a 100.00 add on when purchasing a cue directly from Dale or a 225.00 shaft from him alone.
So I still don't expect much out of the cue playability wise (I'm not a LD shaft guy) but screw it together and throw some balls up on he table. This cue hits good, feels well balanced and not too stiff or too whippy. So far so good.......here's the scary part. I'm playing lights out with this damn thing! Everything about this cue feels good, so overall this is a damn nice cue and if I had to recommend a cue maker to an entry level player I wouldn't be afraid to use the name Dale Perry. For 100-125 I don't know who makes a nicer cue than this one. The cue I have was getting sold before I played some with it, I think for what I have in it (basically nothing) it might hang out with me for awhile!
