I was wondering if that section was called veneer. Not a cue expert. Still learning terminology. What's the difference between veneer and inlays? Would the damaged section be wood or another material? Maybe I should have placed this in another section. Wasn't trying trying to make it a cue maker thing.
Super figured Amboyna burl that is nearly impossible to get like that now! That grade of Amboyna is 5x the price it was 5 years ago if you can find it! If you want to fix the chip in the finish yourself in this used cue simply clean the area of the chip and float a little bit of superglue in the void with a toothpick a little at a time. This will protect the cue until you're ready for the refinish. If it were mine, I'd have Ariel refinish it for sure. Martin
