Unfortunately yesterday our dad had some kind of seizure. They think it may be because of his brain injury when he got hit by the van. They said it wasn't a stroke. He wasn't breathing so well so they incubated him. He still refuses to give up. They took him off the incubator and he is breathing good. He hasn't talked yet but he is blinking and responds to things. He needs all the prayers and positive thoughts he can get right now! He's has to pull through. I know he's trying to it's just in him he never gives up! He's in ICU at Buffalo General 6th floor bed 23. Please show your love for him!

updated today 4/4

You guys are all amazing and our family appreciates all the love you're giving to our dad! We are extremely grateful! It's working! Today he will be moving from the ICU to a regular bed. He is talking and moving and asking questions and I'm sure he's just trying to get to the pool hall!

I will let you guys know what his room number is as soon as I know and I'm pretty sure he can have visitors!

Go Danny, GO! In his pro boxing career, he never lost a fight, right? I'm thinking he's going to win this one.

"...I'm sure he's just trying to get to the pool hall..."
That's a Company Man.

Best wishes to Danny d.

We're lucky to have some of the true golden agers of straight pool still with us. The three of them I can think of that are in their 80's are Dan DiLiberto (87), Ray Martin (86) and Dallas West (about 81), each of them a BCA Hall of Famer. To the extent possible, we must all rally behind them anytime they need it, and this is no exception.

you can go to his Facebook page Danny Diliberto

There are quite a few well wishes there from people like
Darren Appleton, Mark Wilson, Ronnie Wiseman, Howie Salstein, Billy Incardona, and more.
I don’t know if he can read them but I know it will make him happy.
I don’t think this is the last round. My wife and I spent a night in the hospital with him over 40 years ago when he was not supposed to make it. He is still here.

From Daughter Jeanette

He is now in a regular room at Buffalo General in room 903 West. He can have visitors and he's able to answer the phone.

The number is 716-859-6725. He has to do therapy again before he can be released. So it's going to take time but overall he is back up for another round! Thanks again everyone for all the love!

Is that a cell number? If so, can he read a text message (I know the font is small)? I don't want to bug him with a phone call (he doesn't know me), but maybe some well wishes in a text message would work.

I googled it and it came back as the number of the hospital. You could leave a message on his facebook
