Daryl Peach powerful stroke

How do you know what he expected or intended the cue ball to do? Not trying to be rude, just asking ;-)

I don't KNOW for a fact but have played enough pool with enough decent players
for a well-educated guess. On the 5 he wanted to go around the 8/10 not pass them
twice on the right (cause you'll scratch way too often),
on the 6 he might have been trying to do what the cueball did, hard to tell, but on the 7
again he was most likely trying to go 1 rail less for the 8 in the side.

You are a psychic.

this is AZbilliards at its finest. I feel privileged to be humbly accepted into this special group of the greatest players to ever pick up a cue, where no shot is too difficult, everyone fires balls in center pocket on snooker tables cross table jacked up over other balls, and all the current pros like Darren, Shane, Efren etc. are basically bar bangers and have to get weight from everyone depending on their AZB post count.

Daryl was goofing off plain and simple. He'd never shoot those shots that way in a tournament, because anyone of those shots risk to much towards a lost game. The only shot anyone would make even remotely close to anyone of those shots would be to get position on the next ball, if the shot to do that required that kind of a stroke, and only once to get in control of the table. Mike Massey can do things with a cue ball that seems impossible, but never in a game, in a tournament with prize money on the line!!! Earl Strickland at times shoots like that, but most of the time ends up loosing after missing the shot....but the cue ball was still spinning four rails later....so what, he still missed at the wrong time!

Did anyone else notice that the cue ball rolled off when he shot the 8 just before it stopped. Hope this wasn't one of the tournament tables.

Lol! So if I do not play at top pro speed I can't possibly have an opinion on what a top pro
wanted to do with a certain shot? Good luck in getting me to agree to that! Also, I only
have 1 testicle left but it is a pretty decent sized one.

Let me turn it around, if you are saying that Daryl made the cueball do exactly what
he wanted it to do then why did he play such poor position on the 8-ball? Jacked up
straight in and long is not the preferred pro position (Yikes, I did it again) or is it?

Why did he draw the cueball a foot or more too far on the 10-ball coming pretty darn close
to scratching in the side? Because he had pinpoint accuracy?

Very off topic but - double-dave - every time you post something I want to go get a dog. Your avatar reminds me of a black lab we had when i was growing up.

I really loved that dog. I had to put her down way too young when she jumped up one
day and a piece of bone broke from her spine and cut her spinal cord.

I decided against getting another dog since around that time I got off my ass and started working
fulltime and that's hard to combine with a dog, espescially in an apartment which is where I
lived at that time. I do miss Delia though.

:bow-down::bow-down::bow-down: Way to be brutally honest!!!
I know I do not have that kind of a draw shot, maybe if I spend less time at the table and more time increasing my post count I can get there.
I would like to see some kind of big AZB member get together or pool tournament to meet everyone in person and also to get some kind of idea how I stack up compared to other members here. There is no doubt in my mind that there are some premier pool players amongst our ranks, I have seen some very impressive member videos, but by the sounds of it, most members have a legitimate shot at winning the US Open. What am I doing wrong, I would have a tough time competing getting the 1 and out?

You neglected to address the issue of you posting yourself doing these shots B/C players can do.

Just as a guess it looks like he was messing around so I don't think he was necessarily trying to play those exact positions, more then just to show the cool affect of some power draw. I'm sure he had an idea on where the cue ball was going, but probably not the exact path.

Yes I sure did. That's generally my response when people who mean very little to me
tell me what to do. I responded to the OP's question and if my answer is not enough,
well guess what...tough luck!

A good place to start is the Billiard University exam thread. Several members have taken the BU exam and Dr. Dave is pretty good at keeping it updated. I have the tests printed out in a nice little booklet, seriously slacking on actually taking the tests.
